Nicholas Meyer no longer working on Discovery?

So, I'm after reading a review of the third episode on AICN and the reviewer said that Meyer's script was scrapped and he has left the writer's room.
I still see his name as a consulting producer on the credits but if he isn't actively involved in the show then it doesn't mean much. Disappointing if true, his name was one that got me excited for this show.

"Consulting producer" does tend to be the credit for someone no longer involved directly with production; see Gene Roddenberry's credit on the TOS movies post-TMP, Joeseph Malozzi on late-era Stargate SG-1, and Lauren Faust on season 2 of My Little Pony.

Yeah I interpreted that credit as "he's done some work here that needs crediting but he isn't around all that much anymore".
Wonder what the issue was. The show isn't as Meyer-like as I expected (Hornblower in space) so maybe his ideas weren't as welcome as he'd hoped.

According to Wikipedia, Meyer is also involved with Medici: Masters of Florence. Maybe he's splitting his time between the two and having input on story arcs and scripts but not actively writing for either?

Fuller was the guy who brought him abroad. Once fuller left, he may not have felt comfortable staying.

Speaking to Inverse on the phone from Los Angeles, Meyer explains that though his initial role on Discovery was “just another writer in the room,” as the series evolved he became “the consultant.” And then, in an effort to downplay his impact or title, he says, “I would sort of put in my two cents every once and while.”

Maybe he wasn't downplaying it.

I'm just hoping CBS keeps him around and uses him for another Trek project on CBSAA, whether that's the Khan thing or something else, I don't know. And I really really hope there ARE other projects in the works, in various shapes and sizes.

Thankfully his involvement with DSC is over. He left for Titans and The Dark Tower TV shows.

He’s developing Titans, which could be as simple as suggesting he’s helping writing the pilot and leaving following that. He’s an Executive Producer on Dark Tower, which could certainly be done along side work on Discovery. Don’t get too excited about Goldsman leaving Disco. You don’t know that for a fact, quite yet.

I thought I read this somewhere too. Hmm. I'll do some research later today if no one else chimes in on it.

Anyway, I like the rumor that he's helming something else Trek-related. I like the rumor that it's a Ceti Alpha V story substantially less, but. Eh. Could be interesting. :P
