Nicholas Meyer Has Pitched A New Star Trek Movie To Paramount

Sounds like it's already dead, especially since we never even heard about it until a year after it was pitched. However I'm for any Trek that Meyer wants to make. Even his Khan miniseries turned out to be very fascinating in retrospect (for anyone who was lucky enough to hear Rob Burnett's review of the script before he was forced to take it down).

Is there a summary available anywhere?

No idea. Burnett had to take his video down because CBS still considered the script to be their intellectual property. But the thing had scope, I'll tell you that. Ceti Alpha VI is inhabited before it blows. And at one point the Enterprise even shows up, but by-the-book Decker can't do anything but relay Khan's issues to Starfleet.

Yeah... If it was pitched a year ago I wouldn't expect anything to come of it, since there was active work on three other movie projects since then (2 of which have also died, and the third just announced).

As others have said, he had a miniseries developed. Wonder if his pitch was just it in movie form.

At this point, who hasn't pitched a new Trek movie to Paramount?

I cannot confirm nor deny if I gave my pitch last week. :p
All the failed pitches just need to get done by The Asylum studios, the ones that do low-budget cant-quite-sue-them copies of current movies.

They have an entire Star Trax universe just waiting to be made, and the vfx could be on part with TFF

That could be both amazing and terrible
Though generally achieving results which fall far more often into the latter category than the former, productions by The Asylum have occasionally managed to simultaneously be both.

It's actually "The Math of Khan". Set in the academy days, Kirk goes to an online site seeking tutoring for a calculus course he's taking.
Presumably, the needed assistance is to be found at Khan Academy?

The fan film Of Gods and Men is how I imagine an Asylum Star Trek movie turning out

FWIW, I prefer Asylum's I Am Omega to I Am Legend.

Hmm, TMP era? Meaning grey and beige jumpsuits and disco-era accoutrements.

Kor

Weird. I never got the impression that Decker actually got to really take the Enterprise anywhere. He helped oversee the refit for over 2 years...
