NHL Play Off Prediction thread

NEW YORK -- The National Hockey League announced Saturday that New York Rangers coach John Tortorella has been suspended for one game for squirting a fan with water and throwing a water bottle that struck a fan during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Series with the Washington Capitals on April 24 in Washington.
What the hell??? What was he thinking?

What an absolutely ridiculous bullshit call by the NHL... yet again.
Torts should have kept his cool, but that drunken prick of a fan had it coming.

You can't retaliate against the fans, no matter how bad they have it coming to them. He lost his cool, and did something stupid. All things considered, a one game suspension is pretty reasonable. Hopefully this won't kill NY's chances of eliminating the Caps today.

Damn, I never thought I'd ever be rootin' for the Capitals but there is no team on this planet that I hate more then the Rangers. So... Go Caps! ;)

Do-or-die for the Flames tonight. I have a bottle of whiskey standing by to make the pain go away if we lose.

Break it out Hawks win!!!
Better do some jager bombs and fire ball with that,
whiskey( Crown Royal or JD???)

Man, San Jose fucked up. :wtf: I can't believe they choked again; this was supposed to be their year. I know that's how it is pretty much every year, but this year was supposed to be different. I can't stand to have that dick Pronger one step closer to the Cup yet again.

The Sharks are to the playoffs as the Oilers are to the regular season.

Heh. We're never going to get over '94, are we? ;)

NEVER x2.

I'm cheering so hard for Washington tonight.

My other least favorite team in the NHL, the Flames, bowed out in spectacular failing fashion last night, I have to say I'm pretty happy about that.

Canucks are now #2 seed in the West and have home ice for this round which is awesome. Already though I get the feeling that some people think Chicago will be an easy opponent.....I don't think that's the case at all. It's going to be a tough series I think, but I also think it will be damn entertaining.

^ Agreed on all counts about the Blackhawks series. I think it will be a very close series.

EDIT: I just read that Kesler was nominated for the Selke award (best defensive forward). Good for him. :)

[Mike Lange]Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has just left the building![/Mike Lange]

If that didn't remove the "interim" from Dan Bylsma's title, nothing will. I have to give grudging respect for the Flyers though. They out-played Pittsburgh through the majority of the series. MAF is a thief. A brilliant, glorious thief. :D
Good call -- The Penguins just today officially removed the "Interim" tag from Dan Bylsma's title -- he's now the "permanent" head coach.

Bylsma may have seemingly come out of nowhere, but supposedly the hockey experts who know about these sorts of things knew about Bylsma's potential and are not surprised that he has had success so far (albeit early success).

I just saw that, he's had a hell of a season and it's nice to see him get some recognition.

Cody Hodgson, our 10th round pick last year, just won the OHL's outstanding player award. Things are looking up!
