NHL 2018-19: The Sharks Really Traded For Erik Karlsson?

Leafs had two opportunities to win the series, but once they lost Game Six, we all knew the series was over. Babcock only compounded problems with questionable Matthews' use and having Marleau and Brown out there when he could've loaded up Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Reilly (or Moore or Ennis or anyone else).

Sharks played really well, especially in the second period. It's only the first game, but I hope they play like that again on Sunday.

Bruins seem to have a good shot this year. If the Celtics weren’t such massive underdogs there’d be quadfecta hype.

Does anyone else have a “Second team”? My NHL second team is Colorado because when they won with Bourque it felt like a Bruins victory. NHL is only sport I have a second team though.

I watched Columbus take down Tampa and I'm rooting for them in the playoffs. As for a second team throughout the year, not really but I subscribe to the NHL.TV package because I love hockey and will watch almost any team.

A lot of Blackhawks fans have adopted the Blue Jackets for the duration of the playoffs. The Blues are our arch rivals, so the Stars are also being rooted for enthusiastically here.

I'm not surprised. Dallas and St. Louis should hate Chicago.

I was rooting for the Isles to go all the way. Oh well.

This is looking like it might be the Canes year. If the Sharks don't make it, I might root for the Canes. Now if the Canes win and it's not against the Sharks and they do it at home, I hope they do a storm surge. That ought to piss off the old geezers, like Brian Burke and Don Cherry.

Outside of Boston, I'd be happy with any remaining team winning the Cup. Any of them would be a really good story.

The 'Canes played good old-fashioned slam-bam hockey and the islanders weren't ready for it. Hit hard, play mean defense and let the goals come as they may. That is what we used to call playoff hockey.

Bruins and Sharks each strike first blood in their respective conference finals against the Hurricanes and Blues. I guess a Boston/San Jose final would be interesting enough.

I think that's the series NBC wants. This was the most dominant win the Sharks have had so far. St. Louis looked slower, which surprised me.

Obviously I’m rooting for Bruins, but Canes/Sharks?

This can only end up as a Syfy movie. A sequel to Sharknado, SHARKICANE!

I guess Bears vs Sharks is an equally awesome idea for a Syfy movie.

If the Bruins win I need to make sure I have lots of lame brags ready. Three out of four championships!
