NHL 2018-19: The Sharks Really Traded For Erik Karlsson?

Carolina Hurricanes have clinched a playoff berth for the first time in 10 years. That means every team in the NHL has made the playoffs at least once this decade.

If not the Sharks, I'm rooting for Carolina. They've taken the "Bunch of Jerks" monicure and made it their own. That's usually a rally cry for Playoff success and bringing the team together.

Let the playoffs begin. What a great time of the year. MLB is in full swing; NHL playoffs; Premier League football; UEFA football; the Masters this weekend. Sports fan Nirvana!
 
Islanders score in the first 33 seconds only to have replay rule "no goal" because the play was offside.
 
Then they turn right around and score again. 1-0 Islanders over the Penguins after 1:40 of the first period.
 
At the risk of being called a misogynist, a female color commentator for a hockey broadcast is just wrong. Watching the game on NBCSN and I don't know her name and she actually seems to know a little. But that voice is just wrong. BTW game is tied 1-1 with 13+ minutes left in the 1st period.

Agreed. This is my favorite time of year in the entire sports calendar.

That is AJ Melasko and I think she's doing a decent job. I'm glad more woman are getting into those roles.
 
Wow, the very first game of the playoffs provides a shocker. Columbus come back from down 0-3 to steal game 1 in Tampa.

One of the more shocking turn of events I've seen in hockey. The pressure on Tampa is now tremendous. At least the '96 Red Wings made it to the Western Finals.
