"Did Andy Reid just call a timeout?

*Looks at clock, sees eleven minutes left*

"Of course he did."

Good God, Dallas, you have got to be KIDDING ME. The Bears stink! :scream: You're about to lose on your own field to them, dammit!! At least Dez has looked good.

Bears looked really good today. No interceptions, which is a miracle. Great plays from just about everybody.

The Falcons owned the Cardinals today, by the way. Both quarterbacks were embarrassing for Arizona.

I am ecstatic that Dallas is losing. Going into the season you heard about Dallas being the first team to host the Super Bowl in your own stadium and all that and now they are 0-2. It's a beautiful thing that they are overrated once again.

So much for America's Team. The Bears completely outclassed them today and played a solid game after a shaky start with Cutler getting pounded by the defense. OTOH, Romo looked like he didn't want to be there--he didn't show up in any way, shape or form which is still more than I can say for the Cowgirls' FG kicker who I fully expect to be unemployed by later this week.

At least there's the Houston Texans, who are putting up a fight against the Skins as I write this.

I hate the Jets. :scream:

It didn't help that Brady spent most of the second half trying to force the ball to Moss over and over again.

On the plus side, good day for me today in my fantasy leagues. :D

The Bills are just horrible. Rodgers could do no wrong and no wonder Edwards sucks, his O line is so horrible, he can't get a pass off.

Alright Denver!!!! The Broncos brought out a dominant performance to avoid the 0-2 pit of doom. Defense still seemed a bit soft, but they made plays when it mattered. Run offense is still sketchy, but the pass continues to look great. Thomas looks like a great pick for us! Regardless of what the end record is, I think Denver continues to look much improved over last year.

Something to ponder for fans of the Bills, Browns, Cowboys, Vikings, Lions, etc.....

Last year, *none* of the teams that started 0-2 ended up with a winning record, nor did any of them make the playoffs.

^Well, the good/ bad news on that note is that only 2 of the 7 teams currently holding a 0-2 record had any realistic dreams of the playoffs anyhow, so it doesn't change much. ;)

While I hate the Redskins (well, more like I hate Daniel Snyder), I think calling a timeout right before the snap for a field goal, thus making the kicker kick twice, is cheap. Calling a timeout to "ice" him is fine, but not like this. Maybe once the kicker is in his ready spot, the other team shouldn't be able to call a timeout.

The irony of the situation is that Mike Shanahan did it years ago to win a game, now his long time offensive coordinator does it to him.

It seems the student is now the master(mind).

Who was it that ended up losing the game because of it? They called the time out and the kicker missed. Then, during the re-kick, he hit it.

The issue you run into though is what if a team validly needs to call a timeout? Then suddenly they're stuck unable to because of an anti-icing rule. As long as the play hasn't occured yet, then teams should be able to call a time out, maliciously or otherwise. ;) :p

I can't remember that, but I remember Denver winning on the opposite scenario... the year before Shanny was ousted, the Raiders kicked for a long game winner, but it turns out Shanny called a time out and it was given to him. Oakland kicked again and missed it. One of the funniest moments of my life, especially since the roommates were rooting for Oakland.
