I think Childress could be a Head Coach elsewhere.
Let's face it: You can't travel down to a player's home to try to convince him to come back, and then pick him up from the airport and drive him to the practice facility, and then turn around and hope to retain any amount of credibility in your locker room. Once you take steps like that, it's very clear who wears the pants.

But if they had won the Super Bowl last year (at which they made a very serious run) he would have been hailed as a hero and a genius for doing whatever it took to win a championship.
Roll the dice.

He'll have to go back and re-establish his credentials as an offensive coordinator after the number Favre has done on his reputation.
That's kinda asking for it....
Better to go out fighting than to give up.

Tough to fight when ownership tells you the turnover machine is your quarterback whether you like it or not.
Which is the only possible reason Childress hadn't benched him up to this point and why Frazier hasn't benched him.

I think that was the exact reason he released Moss. He was challenging ownership to fire him... he was done dealing with Lord Favre (who has turned the ball over 22 times this season).
If there were questions about his abilities as a coach within the Vikings organization, why sign him to a long-term extension through 2013 during the middle of last season?
So much of what was/is going on in Minnesota makes little sense and I put that right at the feet of ownership.

I hope the real Broncos enjoyed their vacation last weekend. Nice to know they got back safely and picked up right where they left off. This is twice this season where they play the best game of the season, and then follow it with a steaming pile of shit. What is it? Is it the preperation? Is it the coaching? To they just physically and emotionally spend themselves one week and have nothing left the next? Why the fuck can these guys not start something good and build off of it? Hell, I can't even say it's because the Chargers were that much better than us... we were just inept in all phases of the game. Screw this season.
