NFL: Here's rooting for the Lions to finish 0-16. And why>

Because if the Lions go defeated for the whole season, they will have achieved a statistical victory (& not to mention getting 1st pick at the draft) in being the 1st NFL ballclub to go 1 consecutive 16-game season with 0 victories.

I neither love nor hate the Detroit Lions, but am utterly indifferent & neutral to them.

I'm probably the only person in the world rooting for a club to actually LOSE.

Ironic, that if the Lions go 0-16-0 they'll end up scoring a huge historical & probabilistic victory..............

by LOSING.

I'm hoping Detroit screws up their top draft pick by losing to the Packers in the final game of the regular season. I love my Packers, but at this point, it would almost be better for the Pack to continue their losing ways and move up in the draft order.

With the prospect of being drafted by the Lions or the Bengals, who could blame the #1 pick if he refused to sign with either?

I am a Lions fan, Aquehonga, and we are all rooting for them to go 0-16. Our logic: they've come close before, why stop short now? Do it and stop teasing us! And yeah, we'll either get a WR or ruin a promising QB (Looking at you Bradford!).

or ruin a promising QB

Yeah that's what sucks about this, besides it would probably be better for your Lions to trade that first round pick towards another 2nd-3rd year guy who has already shown promise and has a bit of experience to go with it, than to just rely on a rookie QB.

I'm on the 0-16 boat as well. It would be the culmination of decades of futility and ineptitude.

I think it would have been cool last year if you had an undefeated and winless team in the same division. The Pats went 16-0 and the Dolphins 1-15. Now this year, they're tied...go figure.

Actually, I would say they are better off trading their #1 for a 2 and a pair of 3's in the same draft from another team and draft nothing but defense with those players. One great player can help define a good defense... one great rookie will get drowned out and eliminated in a horrible defense!

Yes, I hope they go 0-16. That way the 70s Bucs can uncork the champagne and start celebrating.

I am a Titans fan and knew the Lions were bad, but when we played them on Thanksgiving it looked like a bloopers video.:guffaw:

I'm not sure who their final 3 opponents are, but they almost beat the Vikings last week and could maybe scrape and claw and win one of them.

Well, even if the Lions become the first team to ever go 0-16, the Buccaneers will still have the record for the longest losing streak-- they went 0-14 in their first season, then lost their first 12 games the next year for a total of 26.

The Lions are just over halfway to that record, with 14 consecutive losses.

Didn't the Tampa Bay Bucs do the same thing back in the 70's?
