NFL Football 2009

I'm disappointed and incredibly disgusted with how Denver's season has turned around. The last two games, the defense has been non-existant. The offense hasn't gotten anything going at all. Denver has gone from looking really good to looking atrocious.

Today... in general, why do players reach out with the ball, especially when they don't need to?!? I've seen a lot of players do it this season, and it is so wreckless and stupid. Players are fortunate it doesn't end disasterously more often.

I was glad that they pulled Simms and plugged Orton in, but it was too little, too late. Now that it's a 23pt game with 6 minutes to go, they need to pull Orton. I'm ok with hoping for miracles, but it's so unlikely at this stage that they need to keep Orton safe- he's the closest thing we have to a QB right now. I agree with McD's call to go for the onside kick. It was a calculated gamble that they had to take.

Well, good-bye AFC West. Here's hoping for, but not counting on, a wild card spot.

The Rams almost benefited from Warner's injury.

Fortunately for Arizona, they're the Rams. :guffaw:

For the second week in a row, they went down swinging against a superior opponent.

I'd rather have wins, but at least the effort was there.

Oh, I agree, if the talent matched the work ethic, they'd be fairly dangerous.

They weren't really so much giving the Cardinals a good battle, though, as they were present while Arizona turned the ball over strategically and kept them in the game.

Based on how Denver finished last season, the coaching change and locker room turmoil, this was exactly what I expected from the Broncos this season.

At least they didn't wait until the last game of the season to give the division away this year, but got it out of the way early.

I'd rather miss the playoffs entirely than limp in on a wild card spot. Who'd they face in that case, the Colts? If that's the situation, when was the last time a team hung a hundred on another team?

I stand by my last 4 season predictions - 6 and 10.

I gotta say that that this has been the most cruel football season I've ever been through. Denver's been through bad seasons. That's happened to most teams. But never have I gone into a season expecting a losing year, have Denver start off one of the league's elite and giving me hope, and then falling back to the bottom. At the moment, unless Denver pulls it back together, I'm going back to my preseason prediction as well: Preparing to be absolutely thrilled and shocked if they go 8-8.

No, the Colts will almost certainly win a first round bye, so Denver (if they were to go in as a wild card) would go up against someone else.....most likely the Bengals or Chargers.

I think we played fairly well in the second half. The Rams outscored them 10-0.

There sure is a precipitous drop off from Warner to Leinart. Warner was (as usual) shredding us to pieces before he went out. Had he stayed in, it would have been 42-13....

Looks like the Cowboys were playing baseball today. What an underwhelming 7-3 they are.
