Eh, at first it felt like it could have been an evenly matched slug fest. And then KC just fell apart. It was hard to watch, honestly. By the time we were in the 3rd or 4th quarter my wife was checking her phone and just done.

I was half kidding, the "joke" was more about me and Brady being the same age and the stunner that is to me.
On, the front of the game, I don't think the Refs were seriously paid off by anyone but, damn, it seemed overly harsh and brutal. Someone was a inch or two out of place "Offsides!" Someone makes some kind of comments "Taunting!" (Though at one point it looked like Brady was doing some "Taunting" but no flags thrown) Two players kind of stumble over one another "Roughness!."
The Refs hated their flags. The officiating was way out of line and wildly harsh compared to how it normally is in a game so it did really feel like the Refs wanted Brady to win.
If the officiating had been more laid back, Chiefs still likely would've lost but it would've probably been a bit less brutal. Our Offense was all messed up and Mahomes awesome as he is can't do this all himself. Give it until he's in his 40s and nearing the end of his career and people will say he's paying off Refs too.
That was just an ugly game, KC wasn't doing themselves any favors, Andy Reed made some questionable choices, but come-on the officiating was a bit harsh for the Super Bowl.

As for the officiating, the roughness call was a bit OTT, but a lot of the first half was offsides and the like. I didn't think the officiating was out of line, but I haven't watch a lot of football this season
What about the Pass Interference call where the ball basically landed next to the wall and the intended receiver hadn't even made it into the end zone yet? How was *that* pass interference?! The ball has to be catchable for it t be a PI. The officiating was absurd.
The PI penalties were utter bullshit.
I don't have the energy to go through play by play. I don't even remember the PI call so I'll just agree with you that it was horrible. But, the Chiefs still inflicted a lot of harm on themselves too.
There were several PI calls against the Chiefs, mostly in the 2Q before halftime. They were all bullshit, especially since there was plenty of footage captured of the Bucs doing similar things, holding and whatnot, without a single flag.

That's just the issue I have, the Chiefs that've been playing for, hell, the last two years weren't at that game last night. Hell quite a few members of our actual offense was out so Mahomes had to scramble and run for yardage himself, so they probably would've lost that game no matter what. But there was some calls last night that were complete horseshit. A Buc started getting rough with a Chief, the Chief kind of pushed back and it was after the ball was dead, the Chief got the penalty.
Tom Brady actually chased down a Chief to engage in a confrontation with him, the Chief got the flag.
The Chiefs weren't playing well but someone, somewhere, wanted to give Brady extra help in getting the win.
And if Brady lost people would be saying "Someone, somewhere didn't want Brady to lose."
Watching the Chief's O-Line just collapse, Mahomes already injured hurting even worse, I just don't see it going any better.
I've only watched until the first TD ( it was 1.00 am in Germany and a work day) but seeing the first few drives and the KC pocket collapsing nearly everytime on Mahomes the result didn't surprise me when i checked the result.

Were all of the ones you're thinking of PI calls? I remember some Holding calls, which were legit whether the pass was catchable or not. Take away a few bad calls and the Chiefs still shot themselves in the ass with a lot of other penalties and general ineptitude.
There were two in particular late in the 2Q before halftime that stood out in my mind and should have never happened. Those, coupled with the things the Bucs were doing that didn't get called made a bad situation an order of magnitude worse. Refs are supposed to be impartial, but it really didn't seem like it in this game. It's almost like they made it about them, and not about the players, which is abhorrent, IMO.

And don't get me wrong, my earlier statement about thinking I was watching my WFT players on the field instead of the Chiefs should say it all. Yes, they sucked ass, without a doubt. But no, they shouldn't have had to fight the zebras along with the Bucs. If the Bucs had to win, it should have been through pure merit alone, and not with a bunch of extra wingmen. The way things happened, they should have gotten a "too many men on field" penalty every play.
I think we now have a great example of why the Superbowl shouldn't support a home team advantage. Sadly, there's no way around it, as it statistically can happen, despite its extreme rarity.

I agree on this point which is why, despite all the hate, Brady will be back next season to prove that he can.
