NFL 2019 Season

So! Another season is upon us... The combine and the draft have both come and gone and the pre-season is right around the corner. How did your teams make out this year?

Denver is sounding good with Joe Flacco being brought in after leaving Baltimore. Surrounded by guys 10 years his junior, yet he still seems to be acclimating well and moving into the de-facto role of leader. They really need someone who has the experience he's got to unify the team. Recent QB's since Peyton's departure have been lackluster at best and at worst, complete shit. Doesn't hurt to walk through the front door with a big-ass ring on his finger, either! ;)

Washington? I haven't really heard diddly-squat about their pre-season escapades. Usually there's some drama in there somewhere, but all I've heard that Gruden is pretty happy with the picks that were made during the draft. There was a rumor that the "Hard Knocks" series was going to feature the Redskins this year, but Jay Gruden tweeted something like, "If they were smart, they would to Oakland" and, lo and behold, they did, to go visit his baby brother Jon! I think Case Keenum has healed up enough to ride in the center seat again but haven't heard much about it. Certainly not the ballyhoo of QB drama that permeated my team in seasons past. Kind of a blank slate this year. So who knows?

100th season, kicking off on Thursday September 5th. Packers @ Bears.

Screw the Pats, no better way to start the 100th season than with the 2nd and 3rd oldest teams.

I just hope the Bears can find someone to kick FG's by then. Maybe Pelé is available.

And, as if on cue, the Bears have cut kicker Chris Blewitt, leaving 2 kickers on the roster.

Bob Walk was a good pitcher, but with a name like Blewitt, the Bears would have been tempting fate.

 That's an unfortunate name, indeed.

Almost like the serendipitous name of Sanchez (of "Dirty Sanchez" fame) and his infamous face-plant in his Center's ass prior to being let go from the Jets:

Ah... fun times...

Jared Lorenzen died today at the age of 38. He had been admitted to the hospital Friday with an infection that affected his kidney and heart, which he already had issues with.

I’m still waiting for my team to approve something more appropriate to its recent history in the Snyder age:

... But somehow I doubt it will happen.

RIP, Mr. Lorenzen.

He was born right here in Covington, Ky. and went to the University of Kentucky.

With its suddenly awesome offensive line, offensive-minded head coach in Frank Reich, and a defense that's suddenly full of potential, Andrew Luck and the COLTS are set for an AFC run. :bolian:

Breaking news: Mark Sanchez has given the ineffable gift of retirement from the NFL to explore a new lucrative career in ESPN announcing for college games. Fare-thee-well, Mr. Sanchez. We hardly knew ye...

Football season is almost here!!!! Our long national nightmare is almost over.

Enjoy!

I see old Paxton Lynch decided to grow some talent last night for Seattle, just in time to show the Broncos what he SHOULD have been doing during his past two years in Denver. What a little turd. :scream:

Joe Flacco looked good, though. They have a lot of work ahead of them still, but they are showing promise in their first-string roster.

Now to see what my Redskins will be doing tonight. Still waiting for that long national nightmare to end. It's been 20 years this coming season now, and they still haven't been able to win a championship under Mr. Snyder's "care"...
