NFL 2018 Season

I have to say the Rams have looked pretty unimpressive coming down the stretch.

I'm hoping a couple of weeks of rest and planning can get the ship righted by the divisional round.

My predictions:

Colts over Texans
Chargers over Ravens
Bears over Eagles
Seahawks over Cowboys

Chiefs over Colts
Patriots over Chargers
Saints over Seahawks
Bears over Rams

Chiefs over Patriots
Saints over Bears

Saints win Super Bowl over Chiefs

Glad to see Gase is being moved on. Should've kept Dan Campbell to begin with.

Adam Gase has been fired by the Dolphins, and not all of Miami’s players are sad to see him go. “Many players in Dolphins locker room won’t be hurt by decision to fire Adam Gase”, reports Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com (Twitter link), who reports that some players told him they felt “alienated” by Gase and that he held some players to a “different standard.” Reports like these surely won’t help Gase in his quest to land a new head coaching job, although he is still expected to be a hot candidate.

Like I've said many times, I don't actually watch football anymore, but I've read enough about Gase to feel that he's essentially a poor man's Josh McDaniels: Genuinely smart with an offense, but has such a toxic personality that he should never have control of an entire team.

Like I've said many times, I don't actually watch football anymore...

I watch sporadically now. I'll tune in here and there when I get an itch, but overall the NFL has lost me.

The Dolphins were a team that simply never seemed excited to play for Gase.

For me, it's a combination of the game being a bloodsport (every story about CTE just depresses me) and the NFL doing its damnedest to be fully corrupt and cover up any and all evidence that football is a violent, dangerous game. The NCAA is no better, so as a result I refuse to give them my eyeballs and ad viewership.

As long as my friend who wants to go out drinking the most is into football there's no way I will ever not be into football. Even after the Patriots are no longer good, which will probably be soon.

He's not in town this weekend though, so I will probably only catch parts of the games.

Watson will throw for 666 yards and 66 TDs tomorrow. After which he will be consumed by flames and the Texans will go back to being without a QB.

But it will have been nice while it lasted.

I'm glad Seattle is out.

Now I just need Philly to dig deep and come up with a miracle....

Uh, Timby? I think it's pretty obvious to everyone that football is "a violent, dangerous game."

I think one question is, how long ago did they realize the long term effects? At some point early on, they referred to concussions as "getting your bell rung" and put a player right back in. Did they know better? Probably not. Did the NFL really underplay those types of injuries at some point? I don't think anybody really knows to what level, if at all.

But yeah, it was always a violent game and the guys playing that game knew it. They still do, plus they know there are long term health risks.

So glad to see the Ravens get beat. Man, the Chargers' defense is da troof -- creative, tough and disciplined. Other than that little unpleasantness in the 4th quarter when they went into their "victory defense" about a half a quarter too soon, they looked bendy at worst but not breaky.

Nice job by Anthony Lynn this season. I'de hate to have to face them in these playoffs.

Out of all the playoff teams I've seen so far, my Texans were probably the worst. :(
