NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? What?

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Welp...after last week's stinker against St. Louis the Seahawks look back in playoff ready mode by WHOMPING Arizona 36-6. Still to be determined whether Hawks are 5th or 6th seed.

Looking forward to some play off action next week and HOPEFULLY Beastmode's 'triumphant' return. Hopefully some of our other injured players return as well (really wish Rawls was still healthy!).

Word out of Cleveland is that Haslam intends to hire a new head coach prior to hiring a GM; the new coach will be involved in picking the GM; the new coach will report directly to Haslam and the new GM will report to Sashi Brown, the team's general counsel and analytics guru.

Surely nothing could go wrong with this new and innovative structure.

JJ Watt is incredible. I can't believe the Texans are going into the playoffs with Yoyer and Da Weed Man as QBs. There ought to be a special prize awarded to a team that has to start BOTH Hoyer and Weedon, and actually win. :guffaw:

#HTTR #HAILYEAH :D

I hope the Redskins make it to The Superbowl! :bolian:
Me too, and if anyone can get the job done it's Cousins, but their last games of the regulation season were all sub-standard teams. Now they're facing real contenders with real talent. I would be happy for getting up to the final playoff week, but I honestly don't see them making it to SB50. They've suffered too many injuries - especially in this last game - and are still a team under construction. They've gone farther than literally anyone expected hey could, but I don't think they'll make it far into January. Regardless, all that being said, I'll be rooting for them in earnest all the way to the end, as I have every year since '83. ;)

Coughlin officially out in New York, but it sounds like it was a "resignation" more than a resignation.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Well, we finished another perfect Jeff Fisher season: 7-9.

:scream:

It was a lot of fun to be at the game, but what a brutal way to lose.

Greg Zuerlein: YOU'RE CUT!!!

:brickwall:

So with the exception of Jay Gruden, every coach in NFC East has been clipped.

Damn. I can't remember the last time almost an entire division has been eviscerated like that.

Uh, as of yesterday, Jason Garrett is returning in Dallas...

Just saw the reports. I stand corrected.

Pagano AND the GM back in Indy. As a fan of a rival team, big fan of this move, well deserved reward after an amazing season :techman:

I forgot to mention I did have one incredible highlight to my weekend.

This is a really lousy picture unfortunately, but this was so awesome I don't care. This was at our hotel Friday Night.

He was having dinner in the lobby sushi bar. The hotel was crawling with Rams fans, and people just stated going up to him with items to sign and asking for photos. He was fantastic. Everyone got an autograph and a picture and handshake or a hug. He must have spent 30 minutes patiently greeting every Rams fan in the place. No one was turned away. Very gracious, very generous with his time.

After Pagano (or his agent) went scorched-earth on Grigson to the papers over the last few weeks, this is a pretty shocking move. Everyone says they have an incredibly toxic working relationship.

That must have been some killer peyote that Irsay brought to yesterday's meeting.

Edit: Holy shit. The Browns hired Paul DePodesta as their executive vice president. So a lawyer and a baseball guy are responsible for building the roster.

Maybe the Browns will finally get a good center fielder and lead-off guy. Dexter Fowler maybe?

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Mortensen and Schefter are saying that Sean Payton's only possible destination, if he leaves New Orleans, is San Francisco. Two things come to mind:

1) New Orleans is reportedly seeking a second-round pick as compensation for Payton. As their salary cap currently stands, they wouldn't be able to afford a second-round player.

2) After saying the Niners need to win with class and the right way in the letter he sent to fans announcing Tomsula's firing, Jed York is now courting a coach who was suspended for a year for overseeing a bounty program.

Payton says he's staying in N.O.

Lovie is out after 2 years in Tampa Bay.

Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase is officially the new head coach in Miami.

For all my brothers and sisters in Burgundy and Gold, I found this post that you might amusing:
Redskins finally drop name.

It's about time!!

Daniel Snyder, owner of the NFL Redskins, has announced that the team is dropping "Washington" from the team name, and it will henceforth be simply known as "The Redskins."

It was reported that he finds the word 'Washington' imparts a negative image of poor leadership, mismanagement, corruption, cheating, lying, and graft, and is not a fitting role-model for young fans of football.
:D

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

^ Now that's hilarious.

And in other news, the Texans get steamrolled at home.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Yep! Saw it - 30 to zip shut-out. Steamrolled indeed! I'm honestly kind of surprised they made it to the playoffs. Then again, I'm totally surprised the Skins made it too, so there is that...
