NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? What?

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

The Commissioner is a buffoon who could fuck up a ham sandwich.

That'll tell you whether anything will get fixed or not.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Pretty much. And the owners are swimming in so much cash from the TV deals that they aren't in any hurry to replace the buffoon, either.

I wonder what genius in Dallas decided it was a good idea to let Hardy get in front of a microphone. I swear this team deserves everything that has happened to it this year.

The Bears with an improbable comeback against the Chiefs today.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

OK, show of hands....

How many were screaming at the TV when Pittsburgh put Bell in the wildcat for the final play of the game last night?

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

^ Nobody on the Chargers coaching staff. They must have been busy yawning.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Ah, the Wildcat. Remember that game back in 08 where it worked once? After that, it's been a pretty boring, predictable thing, and hasn't worked again. And yet, a couple hack coaches (looking at you, Rex) keep trying to trot it out on occasion to see if it might work again.

It was an oddity that caught the Patriots off guard that day. After a couple minutes of film, everyone has now figured it out, it doesn't work anymore.

Kinda dependent on believing that the running back may throw the ball or toss it to the QB anyway, which basically never happens. And no shock when the RB just takes a direct snap to run up the middle...

Even worse was they pulled the guard on the frakin goal line...

Superhuman effort by Bell saved the day.

Fu©king Bears!!!!

A 4 point lead with 2:00 left and they run three piss-poor running plays that didn't waste any time. Gave it right back to Detroit.

The Bears got it to OT, but WTF?

Some game management would've kept it from getting to OT.

Redskins teased me first half, fooling me into a false sense of security, staying on top of the Jets in spite of 17 on injury, some highly critical. Then, after halftime, they became the reliable Skins of old, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I was on the road listening to it on the radio. What the hell, Fox.

Finally the Steelers play Landry Jones....

With outstanding results too....

Why did they sign Vick again?

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

*sighs* It's not a good season to be a Seahawks fan. Two weeks in a row it looks like the game is sewn up, or at least have a comfortable lead, and we just 'give up' in the 4th quarter on both sides of the ball and lose. In fact same thing happened with Detroit three weeks ago as well and if it weren't for that fluke play that should have probably not gone in Seattle's favor they'd be 1-5 now. It used to be the opposite and the Seahawks didn't really 'wake up' until the 2nd half.

People are blaming the big payouts to the major players and how they have no incentive to play well any more, but I don't know about that. I see sparks of them playing well in some drives and some great moves by both sides but it's just gone by the 4th quarter.

Even if they do somehow manage to make it to the play offs they'll be facing Green Bay probably in Green Bay and I don't see that ending well. I think losing the defense coach in the off season and some of our injuries haven't helped on top of some of that other stuff.

Still have plenty of season left but another short week coming up doesn't help matters this week. At least it's the 49ers, the Hawks like playing them.

Alicia, you get a hug from a fellow 12. We've had a lot of drama off the field which has hurt us. I have a very good idea what happened with Detroit, though. Russell's head wasn't in the game because of Golden Tate. And we all know what that jerkwad did. I've accepted that this is a rebuilding year. We had two Super Bowls in two years and won one of them... What a ride! :)

Pats game wasn't the beating that I wanted emotionally, but still a pretty convincing win. Looks a little closer because of an odd pick-6 early on, but felt like Pats were in pretty good control throughout. Hate the 'prevent defense' that gets played at the end of the game, seems like if the regular defense was working fine, why go into one where you give up 20 yards at a clip? Seems like it happens most games, other team scores late to make the game closer than it was, skews the defensive metrics with garbage time numbers, etc.

You could put the pin in this one when the Colts ran out that "trick" play that only seemed to trick the Colts. No idea what the plan there was. Direct snap, but 2 of them vs. 5 Patriots covering them up, not sure how that works. Oh, and illegal formation anyway, so even if they somehow got it off, it was moving backwards. MAYBE a poorly-coached team somehow jumps offsides because of that nonsense, but the Pats probably aren't the team to try that on. And with it being 5 vs. 2 on the line, no reason to jump anyway, they're going to just fall right into you if you wait for them :)

That's the kind of shit that should be pointed at when they fire Pagano. It's such a dumpster fire division, they could probably fire him and still walk into the playoffs, right? Or do you let them have a couple more games of middling football, and fire him after they lose to the Broncos and go into a bye week? Either way, he's not back next year, and amateur hour stuff like that play last night are good reasons why.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Phinally! The Dolphins came out with fire in their belly, and literally ran over the Titans.

They looked great in every aspect of the game, although Tannehill still managed to throw a bad interception late in the first half.

But it sure was nice to cheer for a team playing like the world beaters we thought they would be at the beginning of the season.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

There, that ought to slow down the Dolphins a little. The "fire in the belly" and rah, rah stuff works for a little bit, but think this should help them put it in perspective a little. And they had played bad teams before this, so that may have been masking things. Not as bad as their first few games, but not as good as the last couple.

Pats get the Redskins next week. Meh...

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

I did point out ages ago that the last time the Patriots got sanctioned by the NFL, they proceeded to hate-fuck the rest of the league...
