NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? What?

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

^ They aren't doing bad enough to get a good draft pick. Now, if they could lose out....

And I doubt they'll lose out. Looking at the remaining schedule, Washington is a toss-up, Minnesota is probably a loss, Tampa Bay is probably a win and God knows what the fuck will happen against Detroit. Barring some sort of calamity like Cutler getting hurt again and the team relying on the David Fales Experience, they're going to finish around 8-8 and pick in the 10-15 range.

The Patriots lose again... :guffaw:

I'm sure about 99% of the country is mourning. :p

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Every team in the NFL just has that game a year or so where just about everything that can go wrong will go wrong. I mean Brady literally turned himself into a wide receiver today. That's we he's working with with regards to a receiving corps.

Word is that Jimmy Haslam is meeting with Browns senior management tonight and Mike Pettine could be gone as early as tomorrow morning.

Yep, ugly game. Of course, took pick-6, blocked punt returned for TD, AND punt returned for TD for them to squeak out a win, so basically nothing went right. I don't think any superstars got hurt, so at least there's that. And Amendola looks like he's going to be ok, so that was a positive.

Before you overcommit to the trolling, Pats are still tied for best record in the conference. Pretty sure they could lose out and still make the playoffs, so it's not the end of the world. Hell, as long as the Jets lose another game somewhere, they could lose out and be the 4th seed.

Oh, and Gronk and Edelman are both (supposedly) coming back for the playoffs, so suspect the team will look a little better once they can toss a couple more actual football players out there.

Thanks for your concern, though. I'm doing ok :techman:

:lol::lol::lol:

I was as surprised as the next guy. This was the frakin Eagles for gods sake...

You guys really hurt without Gronk.... not only his TD and pass catching, but his blocking as well. Heath has gone down for us but we are fortunate enough to have his replacement on the team. Jesse James seems to be up for the task. If was funny as hell last night when he had a big 3rd down catch last night, and the crowd chanted "HEEEEEEATH" :guffaw: There going to have to figure out a new chant.

I was watching the Steelers game last night and thought to myself... what would Brady do with this group of receivers? .... scary thought.

Steelers doing what they are supposed to do last night, after trying like hell to give the Colts a 2 touchdown lead early... Tomlin finally had to bench Jacoby Jones and then AB ran one back for a TD!... but they are on the outside looking in because they didn't take care of business earlier in the year...

Bengals and the Broncos comin up... this will be our season right here.

It's really amazing how much better our D is when Shazier is in the game. Nice Bonkins got playing time last night too.

But not before he pours sugar in Johnny Football's gas tank, right?

This one's all on the Browns. Nothing going on with Manzel that should be news or a shock. That they took him with a 1st rounder anyway is on them, and should be fireable. Just like Tebow a few years back; pretty well-established limitations that weren't going to be fixed.

Sucks to pick him anyway, have the obvious happen, and pretend it isn't their fault.

The Brown's are idiots.

You don't draft him and not play him.

Time to quit playing dad and play the kid for the rest of the year.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Looking forward to MNF tonight w/ Skins against 3-8 Cowboys. Romo's out for the season (at least) and Skins players are (relatively) healthy and still running with a full head of steam since last week's win against the Giants. Should be a good win, but this particular combination of teams on MNF apparently makes for some wild and unexpected results. They're both reportedly at 8-8 with this particular match-up on this particular night. Although they say this is their 17th time doing this, so I'm guessing one of the games was a tie.

So, as they say...

Johnny carries around his own sugar supply.

Ha ha, they just named him the starter for the remainder of the year!

Skins BIG I think. Not close tonight.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

I would agree, and all signs point to this, but they have been known to quite adeptly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in similarly "easy" games in the past, and with staggering frequency. They still have Dez Bryant and a number of other effective weapons. It's Dallas' game to be the spoiler if they want to be, since they have nothing to lose at this point. Question is, are they mad enough to bring the rain, or are they truly a defeated team at their core as they now appear to be?

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

And with a dying QB, gotta start thinking about whether it's smart to squeeze out those tough wins, or maybe not go 100% so you can get a top pick and bounce back. 6-10, 7-9, those are the death slots for mediocre teams that can't figure out how to improve.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Problem was (until recently, anyway), Dallas, like the Skins, got penalized on cap space for the 2012 & 13 seasons due to some contract front-loading back in 2010 when there was no cap. NFL didn't stop it or say they couldn't do it, so they did it, and got penalized retroactively. Fucking Goodell...

I can't speak for Dallas as up until this season they've been doing pretty well, but it's one of the primary reasons the Redskins have had difficulty finding new talent. That and dipshit Snyder pissed away all those draft picks for RGIII to the Rams at around the same time, super-crippling the team for years. Just now it looks as if we can finally dig ourselves out of the 5-year hole Snyder got us into, and Dallas should be able to start doing some heavy scouting as well.

NFC-Least is probably one of the most demolished divisions in the league. I know it's setting the bar pretty low to say we're in first place and we're not likely to get through many of the playoffs with "real" teams, but at least it can be claimed, and there's always someone worse... cough...Browns...sputter...Ravens...gag... :D

I just want Breshaud Breeland to have a bunch of solo tackles and an interception or two so I can get into my keeper fantasy league playoffs. :)

I have no problem admitting that I hope Dallas loses every single game for the rest of the season.

Damn! 2 sacks on Cousins out of the gate. What was I saying about Dallas playing angry? If it wasn't for the extra penalties against them they might already be in the red zone. This is going to be a wild game.

This is how I expected Dallas to start the game. Penalties and a turnover.
