Neytiri vs Nuuhura

Maybe I shouldn’t compare but I cant help it ,I am watching avatar at the moment and low and behold its uhura (sorry I meant zoe).

so my question is which charcater do you prefer neytiri or NUuhura

Both are played by the same actress

Both are strong female characters

Both characters are attractive...well if you like the NAVI

both women have men issues...however I am willing to give Jake Sully a pass (at least he redeemed himself) but I can’t give spock a pass, he strangled someone in front of his ''girlfriend''and she just forgets about it immediately

Am sure there are more similarities ….I just cant think of one anymore, pls remind me

Neither of them strike me as having "men issues" whatever the hell that means.

Neytiri is a far more developed character and I find her more interesting.

Neytiri is a main character, Uhura a supporting character.
Saldana did a fantastic job on Avatar and, even with the little she had to work with, gave us a Uhura that is already a more interesting character than before.

Neytiri struck me as being the true main character of Avatar. The guy (wassisface, I can't even remember his name!) was just not dynamic enough to care about. Neytiri and Grace were by far the best characters.

But Avatar as a story just isn't anything like Star Trek. Maybe they could develop it after decades of effort, but the core story of Avatar is hokey "whitey saves the noble savage" nonsense while the core of Star Trek is far more timeless, so I doubt they could ever be equal.

Which gives Uhura - who hasn't yet been developed much in just one movie - more of an interesting future. I feel like I've already seen all there is to Neytiri and the next movie will be a repeat. But Uhura's future character development is still to be seen.

Plus Uhuru's boyfriend is way way hotter than Neytiri's. And at least I can remember his name.

Saldana's performance in Avatar was far more impressive, but that's because of the difficulty of what she was asked to do.

Here's an interesting one: they're both stories of humans who hook up with aliens. In one story, Saldana plays the exotic alien and in the other, she's the mere human.

Neytiri gave me my current favourite put-down (said in the voice): "You're like a baby!"

Comparing the two is pointless, IMO. Uhura's a spunky pseudo-military officer on a spaceship, Neytiri's a blue alien tribal girl. They're totally different. It's like comparing Spock with Sylar.

The third, even longer version on the BluRay has a few more scenes with Weaver in it, that make Grace a much more likeable character; they add a little more to her than just the scientist-vs.-military attitude.

It should have been that long to begin with. What the frack ever happened to the roadshow engagement and the longer cut that was a part of that engagement? It should be brought back, and hang how much time it takes to show such a movie every day.

I would have even loved to see the 45 minutes of deleted scenes that are on the bluray. Those were really great.
