Next Step - Trek BBS' Own Deep Space Habitat Project

NASA has its own NextStep Deep Space Habitat Project. I would like to hear some ideas form the forum regarding what type of deep space habitat they think would work.

https://www.nasa.gov/nextstep

My idea for a Deep Space Habitat would involve using Bigelow's B330 along with other modules from the ISS.

What ideas do you have? And no a telephone booth is not a suitable habitat module.

Tin cans in space? How timely.

How about constructing an L1 or L2 exploration gateway platform, a mobile deep space habitat, or the Nautilus-X?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploration_Gateway_Platform
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Space_Habitat
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nautilus-X

I like the Nautilus-X because it has a centrifuge to counteract the effects of living and working in a microgravity environment. Something like this would be an inspiring step before colonising the Moon or Mars. Probably never going to happen because of more pressing problems down here in the gravity well. Hey ho.

I definitely like the Nautilus-X design because of the centrifuge. I could see the Nautilus - X being used as "Cruise Ship" of sorts where more Bigelow modules added would allow for more passengers to journey to the Moon and return to a space hub to then return to Earth in a reusable capsule designed by either Space -X or Blue Origin.

Do you know how long it take N-X to travel to the Moon and orbit for three days and then return to the Space Hub orbiting Earth?

Another idea would be to use a system like Bigelow's BEAM where an inflatable outside bag would perform much like a stator and the interior bag as the rotor.

As electricity is created and stored in capacitors and used some of the electricity would be used to power ferromagnetic magnet walkways and other structure within the bag meant to be used as hand holds. The astronauts would wear special boots and gloves with small nickel padding that would allow for a strong attraction to magnetized surface to the point of creating a slight resistance that would then make the body and muscles have to perform work.

If at the same speed as Apollo, perhaps 9 days total. Need more info about the proposed propulsion module(s) and the available Δv.
