next Star Trek series 1701-?

Well, that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it, but I'm pretty certain I know what a producer would want to do.

And whoever it was above who said this topic is supposed to be about what we "want" to see... fine, I get that. But there's nothing wrong with trying to inject some reality into the discussion. If you don't agree with me, then don't agree; makes no never mind to me. But don't fault me for being a realist.

So with that said, here's what I want to see. I want to see a reboot of TNG, taking place in this new universe. I want to see the nuEnterprise-D. I don't necessarily want to see a nuWesley or a nuData, but because it would take place a century after Star Trek '09, the timeline would have diverged so much that we could have any new crew. Have the crew be the descendants of Kirk and Spock et. al.

While your line of work is good and people appreciate it, how do you really know what a producer would want. Is someone you know a producer, do you work closely with someone who was or is a producer, etc. I am not critizing you, I think if people know how you know what a producer would want they would accept your answers better. And listen without instantley putting a wall up becuase they think your critizing their words.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me whether people agree with me or not. Now with that said, I also realize that anything could happen. Could there be a series about the Enterprise-C? Sure. Could there be a series about the Enterprise-Z? Sure. BUt the huge success of the movie has shown that future incarnations of Trek do not need to be slavishly devotional to what came before. It's a new universe, and anything can happen. So why return to something (read: Enterprise-C) that couldn't be done with any other ship from this new universe?

right. But why was it that star trek then was so popular. Because it appealed to the younger generation of trekkies. Why becuase it had battle scenes, action. So thats why I stated why not have a show that shows the instability of the universe as it is now. Whether it be from enterprise-E, Warship of the federation, most advanced. Or from a ship of another heavy class.
