Next Series: how bout Enterprise the boat?

Phaedron

Newbie
Here are my thoughts on a new series which would feature "enterprise" the boat, as seen on the wall of pictures where all the ships that are named enterprise go. After all the space battles we've seen, it would certainly be an interesting change of pace to see them played out at sea, but this would only be the beginning; What if Enterprise, the boat, eventually traverses space and time and ultimately becomes arrives at the very end to save the federation in the future? While it begins in the seas, a lot of exploration and interesting episodes could be packed in.

I give you, a new series as I imagine it to be:

Inspirations... Season 1

Conflict is what drives a good story, and Star Trek has always been about conflict and the exploration of new frontiers, including the ones within such as the android endeavoring to become human. In this enterprise we give you a monk whose spiritual journey is ever-evolving and whose faith will be tested, especially in the face of technology.

In this setting, there is a major conflict concerned with proving the merits of science and coming out of the dark ages. Aliens have infiltrated earth, but their technology will appear spiritual and they feed off of the myths and legends that abound. In fact it probably won't be until close to the end they are even discovered to be using science rather then magic. They have even infiltrated the church and are carrying out inquisitions and burning of books; efforts that are intended to keep Earth in the dark ages.

Towards the end Enterprise will pick up some vikings, some of which may even join the crew, perhaps after a long series of episodes concerning dealings with the vikings and In the series finale Enterprise gets lost in the bermuda triangle, and thats where the official story ends...

Season 2

The bermuda triangle... upon locating the source of disturbances alien technology is discovered, technology linking instantaneous transport between distant worlds. The crew awakens in.... Qo'nos, hundreds of years ago. As the entire ship is subtly transported, they don't suspect a thing...

This season will involve, among other things, fighting the aliens on other worlds, who again mask their technology and intentions to appear authentic and gain power. There is a lot of learning, new fronteirs, changes, and improvements to Enterprise, eventually making it into an airship and then warp capable.

Then it will need to reach the center of the galaxy where much to their surprise they will meet humans, or rather survivors from what follows the temporal cold war, a time war so massive it destabilizes the very galaxy.

Towards the end... the true identity of these aliens is revealed. They represent a handful of warring factions and systems near the center of the galaxy where something big is going on with the super massive blackhole that holds our galaxy together. Again much is learned and another new fronteir opens up, that of time...

Season 3

Enterprise has seen a lot of upgrades, but has kept the basic shape and appearance of a ship, and now ironically the features of a boat make it the only ship suited to enter a special expanse that has been called oceanic space. A region full of thick nebula gas, trapped heat, and endless ocean, some areas even support life. A lot happens here.

At the center of this expanse is the great whirlpool, a twisted mass of water, gas, and physics that has ruptured time. Those who enter it gain the ability to sail the ocean of time. Again the design of Enterprise somehow proves superior and it is able to made into a time ship.

This ability represents the turning point in the struggles between the aliens at the center of the galaxy. The time abilities of these aliens are then increased and a new starfleet temporal command is formed at the center.

Now a lot of heavy work cleaning up the timeline will begin. Theres room for a lot of interesting material here.

Season 4

One of the things I envision in this season will be the true origins of the borg, and their deity the Omega particles.

I also see a strange silver sun made of shining burning metal of some sort. The metal is conscious and intelligent. It is liquid and capable of also being solid or gaseous and might transmute into one of them depending on how it was destroyed. When burned with phaser blast it becomes gas, then solidifies into a metal cloud, attacks with metal lightning, and eats away at the targets organic matter and revives itself. This metal is also coveted by the borg, but all attempts at assimilation have failed. They can only be destroyed in a black hole or by use of weapons that fire miniature black holes.

Also to be encountered are ships and mechs with melee capabilities. Ships that don't rely on firing weapons, but using themselves to slice through ships, shields, and an evasive manuevers system based on gravity and affected by the size and number of nearby ships.

Towards the end, a castastrophic finale where most of the crew die.

Season 5

Is everyone really dead? yes and no. It's not the fronteir of death, but it is the fronteir of species that have evolved beyond physical forms, and many of those who "died" or seem to have died, are now having adventures in this fronteir.

Meanwhile, those who didn't "die" or othervise vanish, are in the future or various times trying to warn the federation that a very dangerous threat is on the horizon, as well as telling them about how an old boat from Earth is now a timeship, or was a timeship, pity no one is believing them.

Yes, was, because Enterprise is presumed wrecked or destroyed as this one begins. But when all is said and done those who "died" find a way to return to physical form, following some drama in the world beyond physical forms. Enterprise will be restored too. Something involving matter, energy, consciousness, the realms of those without bodies, and all transporter use going through or doing something to their realm. The idea is to make the biggest comeback ever.

Now for the grand finale, Enterprise with vastly superior weapons and tricks, annihilates its way through a whole invading empire, the head of which has reached and just enslaved Earth.

Actually I had thought they were going to remake TOS in the new timeline and with the actors in the 2009 movie. That would seem to be the logical next step.
