This was kind of a disappointing ending to what turned out to be an average event. I get they wanted to go more of a low key approach, but it felt like this was like their first crossover event, where each show featured it's own characters and that was basically it. Here, I'm not sure if the overall story was coherent enough for me. It kind of felt like a lot of the story was written off screen. For example, last night's ending featured a dark Superman. Ok, that was interesting, but then we are told before Supergirl even starts that it's really Deegan who used the book to transform himself. Now, maybe I missed something but the times we saw Deegan he was insane and fooling around with the book. We didn't see that transformation happen, so the surprise of seeing dark Superman was shattered in the first few minutes. For the sake of not wanting to ramble, it felt like three shows having ordinary episodes of their shows trying to connect a larger arc and it could have been handled better. This is no where near as big or conclusive as an event as last year's.
I don't watch Supergirl, so who was that 3-eyed fellow who came in with Jonn. Also, I get this is Supergirl and maybe they finally answered and put to bed many complaints about Superman not being in the series, but I can't imagine a world without Superman. That almost feels sacrilege.
Overall, this event was decent, but I almost feel like they should have included Legends to flesh the story out a lot more, or just made one of the parts a two parter, like say the Sunday Night segment (And then put Charmed on next week).
