News? Stories from Dubious Sources

What do you mean "prematurely"?

The days of shows going on and into eternity are over. P+ is drawing a line in the sand as a cost control measure.

Five seasons is a VERY good run nowadays.

5 seasons is the standard run, you can expect 30-50 episodes by the series design.
That's a precedent that was set by modern Syndication and HBO.
For a series to make it further than that, 92, it has to be a very good series.

Mike Stoklasa of Red Letter Media claims in his latest half in the bag video that he heard from an inside source that the viewership of Strange New Worlds is in the tens of thousands. Like 12-14,000 views for the entire season. He was asked to clarify if he was joking and he said he didn't have to clarify anything and he doesn't know if the source is reliable.
The Nielsen numbers for SNW season 3 are publicly available. While the series potentially lost almost half its viewership (or had many people rewatching seasons 1 and 2 at the beginning of season 3, distorting perceived per episode numbers), it still did well enough to initially trend in the Top Ten Original Series on Streaming.

I really don’t understand the whole grift that is going on these days. So you don’t like a show? Big deal. There’s lots of shows I don’t like or don’t watch. Many that my wife does. But I don’t post about them online or make videos. I may jab my wife on them from time to time but I get the same from her too on my shows.

Maybe I’m just too honest of a person but fleecing an audience for money for a show you claim to hate (but continue to support) is just asinine in my brain. Just turn the fucking channel. Or get outside.

Hate sells. I guess people are looking for things to be mad at.

The TV show doesn't talk back. I imagine it gives a feeling of control without repercussions.
I think @BillJ is right. Hatred has become comfortable for many and the Star Trek franchise is a ripe target for a grift centered around dissatisfaction and foming that in to a financial venture.

The biggest frustration for me is the sheer hypocrisy of it all with a franchise espousing diversity of thought, creativity and celebrating differences, and immediately turning on differences.

I don't know how much money they get from youtube, but let's just say not everyone is cut out for onlyfans.

Dumb. Even for Mike. If there were only 12-14k viewers, it wouldn’t have gotten its final (albeit shortened) season. Maybe a movie.
The plan WAS to do a streaming movie to end SNW after S4 The producers said they couldn't do a decent wrap up in just a 2 hour streaming film: so they worked with Kurtzman and Paramount and the cast and got the 6 episode 5th season instead.
