News? Stories from Dubious Sources

IIRC, Clancy told him she was sending a fleet, right after she told him to...

Oh right

"Some three weeks later, Picard contacted Clancy from La Sirena to report on recent events and request a Starfleet squadron to defend Soji Asha's homeworld from the Zhat Vash. After some tense words, Clancy agreed to send a squadron to rendezvous with him at Deep Space 12. (PIC: "Broken Pieces")"

I tried to find a clip but it was a hard. So have a Memory-Alpha quote.

That was a very big squadron.

How did Riker get a ship so quickly? (And just in time to save Picard's butt at Copellius?)
Riker left Starfleet on relatively good terms, or at least on much better terms than Picard did. If he said he wanted to return to the fold and command one of the ships that was already being sent to assist Picard, I doubt anyone would raise a fuss over it.

They indicated in part 1 (I think that's where they said it) that the universes grew too far apart come the 27th century. It does not eliminate the possibility of anything. And frankly, I really hope S31 takes place in at least the 23rd century.

Of course, it doesn't eliminate any possibility! I speak merely from my entirely "guesstimational" perspective.

GiantFreakinRobot is right up there with WeGotThisCovered as clickbait purveyors of unadulterated, manufactured bullshit.

"Possibly leading to a series?" GMAFB. NCIS is in its 18th year, NCIS:LA is in its 12th; Bakula's installment of the franchise is in its 7th. He's a producer on the show. These shows don't get canceled. He does not need a streaming skiffy show.

Ha, was just coming here to post that.

"Star Trek Picard seems most likely". :wtf:

I think Lower Decks as a hologram is the most likely appearance. I've said it before that Bakula, as a CBS Studios actor and producer, is probably the easiest get for them, compared to the other Star Trek classic captains (although they've since gotten Stewart and Mulgrew, and only Shatner and Brooks are left), and it's only his reticence of the role that would preclude it if they wanted him. I can't see how they could easily include him in Discovery Season 4 or Picard Season 2 except as a hologram (which would only really work as a tongue-in-cheek joke, i.e. best on Lower Decks). They could do a flashback, potentially, or maybe a message (holographic or not) from a couple hundred years/1000 years in the past, or just go full into Enterprise revival with a green screen on a future installment of Short Treks, if that ever becomes a thing again.

But this is all wild speculation. So, I'll send a report in to GiantFreakingRobot.

I suppose if Jonathan Archer really is the founding father of the Federation, that could actually be relevant in any number of situations, whatever the series. Anything from trouble bring the alliance back together, over historical records that paint early Starfleet activities in a bad light... to a holodeck recreation.... to the Temporal Cold War, just lifting Archer out of the 22nd and dropping him into the 33rd.

My money's still on the Georgiou led Section 31 being set in the 22nd Century and Archer making a semi-regular appearances, opposed to their whole existence and attempting to expose their activities at every turn. Even when Malcolm Reed tries to back up the need for a covert operations dept, and brings him evidence the Romulans were the ones responsible for Henry Archer's death and failure of earlier warp test programs. Not the Vulcans, as he long held a grudge over.

If you make enough wild guesses, one of them is bound to be correct I guess.

Maybe Bakula is finally passing the torch... SNW is an Enterprise set show. Bring on Archer's preserved Futurama head in a tank.
