News? Stories from Dubious Sources

Before this potentially gets too spoilery, shouldn't discussion of what did or didn't happen in Season 3 of Discovery be in the Disco forum?
Not sure how one's meant to discuss potential "leaks" and confirm/debunk them while simultaneously avoiding spoilers...

It's the wrong forum for Discovery discussion. This forum is explicitly labeled as being about "discussion of future Trek projects". Discovery is a current series that has its own forum.

I guess this is the right thread to post it in: I heard months ago that Discovery season 3 was set to feature a crossover with the Kelvin side of Star Trek.

The crossover was supposed to be Michael Burnham meeting Nimoy Spock (the one that we saw in the Kelvin movies). They planned to have a body do the acting, with their head being CGI'd into Leonard Nimoy's face.

They weren't able to film this scene originally, but I heard Discovery S3 recently had some quick reshoots & additional filming in Vancouver, Canada. Very secretive and stuff. I think they ended up filming this Kelvin crossover scene there.

Also, I think this might be the scene where it happens. I'm not sure.

So...uh...no.

Some spoilers from Discovery's most recent episode as of this writing ("Terra Firma, Part 2".)

"Carl" sent Georgiou to a time when the Prime Universe and Mirror Universe overlapped. To me, this strongly suggests moving backward in time even before the 23rd century. This lends further credence (IMO!) to scattered claims of -- what was it? -- a late 20th-century show? Or something contemporaneous with present times? Either way.

They indicated in part 1 (I think that's where they said it) that the universes grew too far apart come the 27th century. It does not eliminate the possibility of anything. And frankly, I really hope S31 takes place in at least the 23rd century.

Maybe...
... she goes back to 21st century Earth to start Section 31, so it can later be included in the Federation charter. She can access the GoF whenever she wants. The new series is actually a reboot of Assignment: Earth.

Only half kiding.

I mean, it's really just a matter of time before they try to pull some sort of epic Avengers-like crossover.

Whether or not DanielRPK's "insider scoop" actually means that's happening is another matter altogether. IIRC, his track record on MCU spoilers hasn't exactly been that good lately.

How did Riker get a ship so quickly? (And just in time to save Picard's butt at Copellius?)

The thinking I've heard is that Admiral Janeway has Picard's back and she's pulling strings behind the scenes (Think it was just a coincidence that Seven just happened to be at Vashti when Picard needed her?)

I read somewhere that the scene was originally intended to have Admiral Clancy, so I imagine she was the one who sent the fleet. How Riker got pulled into it, idk.

Little Miss "Sheer f$@%ing hubris" Herself? I have a difficult time believing that.

She didn't want to give Picard a ship ... but she'll give him a FLEET? :vulcan: I can't see it.

Remember he talked her again later on in the season, maybe she believed him then.
