News? Stories from Dubious Sources

I only just discovered this thread, but it's pretty funny I keep seeing news stories pop up from "our inside sources" on various Facebook ads which are blatantly taken from Twitter speculators and on here.

Any time We Got This Covered is linked, it should go here:

https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/news-stories-from-dubious-sources.300649/

Why? Because We Got This Covered is the poster child for dubious sources.

My hope sank like a anchor when I saw that this was from "We Got This Covered." Maybe someday DS9 will get the honor it deserves!

Clickbait as others have said. They've been posting recently about Toby Maguire's demands for "more time out of the suit" in Spider-Man 3 even after the rumours that he's even in it have been shot down. It's wish-fullfillment nonsense and fake stories for clicks.

Sadly, it seems Brooks' health (again admittedly based on rumour) won't allow him to return to acting any time soon.

Please explain more about his health, I haven't heard anything about his physical situation since he's pretty private about his personal life.
IIRC, there were comments from Cirroc Lofton a few years back that didn't paint a pretty picture, though I can't find them at the moment.

Lofton and Brooks have maintained a friendship with regular contact since DS9 ended.

I wish Avery the best of health - met him a decade ago at a talk at the Philly Library. Such a lovely guy. After the talk, about a dozen fans came up to him - he was taken aback, but deeply appreciative. I remember someone handing him a boxed Sisko action figure to sign - he looked at it and joked, “What a fine young man he was! A fine young man!” then signed it. During the talk, he wasn’t as interested in answering questions about the show itself, but was still nice in his answers. Even if Trek isn’t as interesting to him as it is to us, he’s always been very kind to fans.

He did seem to have a deep appreciation for the show from what he said, just seemed tired of talking about it. He’s never been fully comfortable about Sisko becoming what he’s known for, but that kind of feeling is not unusual with actors.

Frankly I doubt he’ll return, because of his health, which is why I believe he wasn’t in the doc. But on the very slim chance he did, it’d be to film something with Cirroc.

I can now confidently confirm there is no Kelvin Spock in Discovery S3. And no CGI Spock. And let's leave it at that for now... :-)
