News? Stories from Dubious Sources

We Got This Covered has yet again published some Pulitzer-worthy investigative journalism, collected from their various "reputable" "sources." (4chan, of course)

So, apparently, the Section 31 show has been cancelled along with a planned Starfleet Academy series chronicling Kirk's studies, and CBSAA was a 100% definitely developing a Star Trek superhero series starring Ruby Rose as an LGBTQ woman and John de Lancie as Q in a supporting role, that has been thrown out as well, presumably so that they could focus on SNW. Not to mention the lovely tidbit about Discovery only making a jump into the future because they shelved a far-future series and its plotline was repurposed as Discovery's third season.

I just love how any Star Trek fb-page I'm following would blindly share this kind of bullshit without second thoughts. Well, it gets them clicks, and I have only myself to blame for opening the link in morbid fascination.

That site gives me a headache.

Lower Decks premiered last night, I’m sure people are saying his firing is imminent today.

Obviously. I mean, the licensees don't want to merchandise it because they only want live action Prime Star Trek. So, its been cancelled and won't air any more episodes. As have Section 31, Strange New Worlds, Picard and Disco season 3 will be its last. Its all to be replaced with a sequel to all of the series which will wipe out the CBSAA timeline.

Did I get it right? :D

You're supposed to call it "STD" not "Disco". Otherwise, not bad. ;)

“Yeoh would have come back in time to the present-day to stop Khan from rising to power,” so the leaker puts it
. :vulcan:

No, Disco Season 3 has already been cancelled.

They only made season 3 due to a clerical accident, it's non canon and will be overwritten by the top secret Star Trek Porthos and Spot miniseries.

LOL the title of this thread is 'News? Stories from Dubious Sources' - isn't that an invitation to post BS from We Got It Covered etc

The issue was that someone posted the info in the PIC forum, not here. Posting it here would have been just fine.

Bob Slydell: Discovery Season 3.
Dom Portwood: What's that?
Bob Porter: You know, flashy looking show, changes showrunners a lot.
Dom Portwood: Oh, yeah.
Bob Slydell: Yeah, we can't actually find a record of it being a current show here.
Bob Porter: I looked into it more deeply and I found that apparently what happened is that it was cancelled three years ago and no one ever told them, but through some kind of glitch in the production department, it still gets made.
Bob Slydell: So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch.
Bill Lumbergh: Great.
Dom Portwood: So um, Discovery has been cancelled?
Bob Slydell: Well just a second there, professor. We uh, we fixed the *glitch*. So they won't be receiving a budget anymore, so it will just work itself out naturally.
Bob Porter: We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem solved from your end.

I believe I left my stapler aboard the Discovery...I know they're in the distant future...maybe they could, uh, open another temporal rift and send my stapler through...maybe equip a shuttlecraft with a tachyon pulse generator...sling shot my stapler around the sun...Guardian of Forever maybe...I've been trying to contact Jupiter Station...but, uh they haven't received my subspace transmissions...I keep being told they're blocked...maybe I could speak to an admiral...

I read this in John Crichton's voice and lol'd.
