News? Stories from Dubious Sources

Yes, I'm stopping.

It sounds like it was about the Eugenic Wars. Scrapped and being reused in Section 31.

Same lady leaked this is what happens to Earth in the Picard S1 finale:

So the idea that there would be "Make Earth Great Again" types in the future that want to rewrite history makes sense. But this is rumour. If Earth is destroyed in the Picard finale, then I'm personally going to stop considering these dubious.

So...did the Earth get destroyed?

Edit: Ninja’d.

Apparently, CBS want to test the waters for the project by bringing Mulgrew back in a future season of Picard. As we’ve already shared, there are plans for Janeway to return for a small role or cameo on the show. It’s unclear whether this would be in season 2 or 3, but if fan response is positive and the actress is up for it, then the concept may get the green light.

If this goes ahead, what do you think Admiral Janeway would've done? Try to undone some of the things she did in the past, as "Endgame" has predicted? How's her relationship with Seven would've looked like? Speaking of Seven, why the show-runners not planning a 'Seven' spinoff instead - given Jeri Ryan's excellent performance in S1, I'm sure there would be fans that would've been on board with this idea ;);)

Anyhow, I would've interested in what you guys and gals have in mind about this idea....

Yeah, check the date on that article...

BTW, that site tends to always use this quote when coming up with their latest bullcrap:

"We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who said a Captain Pike series is in the works, which has now been confirmed – that the network is interested in the idea."

A Captain Pike show has not been confirmed by CBS.

*EDIT* (although I get that this particular piece of bullcrap could have been an April Fool's joke.)

Has this been posted already?

https://boundingintocomics.com/2020...t-picard-season-2-and-new-info-on-section-31/

It's from January, but I didn't see it (granted, I didn't scroll through all the pages here).

Anyway, the Picard Season 2 info seems a little too unlikely to me, though I'd of course love to see Sisko again.

"Picard season 2 focuses on Q Continuum. Janeway, Guinan, Q and Sisko are set to return.”

Sounds like a heaping load of crap to me, but at least you posted it in the right section.

I will say, however, that I find the idea of the Section 31 show being about the Gorn, Orions, and Slaver Weapons to be interesting, although my bullshit meter is pulsating.

It sounded credible at first, then became less and less credible as it went along. The thing that killed it was the idea of Sisko returning and recasting if they have to. That's not happening. First because Picard focuses on TNG and VOY, and second because they're not recasting MAIN characters so far. So they wouldn't recast here.

...

Dubious source turned out to be dubious.

Pico Fermi, actually. Mind was put into an android body which has a random off switch subroutine... :guffaw: The other takeaway surely isn't a reflection of Trek being a hollow shell of its former self?

Yea, I would love to have Sisko return, but only if he's played by Avery Brooks. And I'm not sure Avery would be up for it. Plus the rumor started on 4chan which, let's be real, is not the most reputable of places.

However, I do want to say that while the first season of Picard focused on TNG and VOY, there's no reason future seasons can't have some DS9 mixed in. And in fact, there has already been some background DS9 nods, such as Quark's Bar, a mention of Quark himself, and a nod to Kasidy Sisko's freighter business.

But but but it’s called ENTERPRISE!!!!

I'm not above saying when I was wrong, and I was here. I've done it before regarding Picard. The show is still filed as "Star Trek: Enterprise" on its production file, but that is clearly a working title, and "Strange New Worlds" is of course now confirmed as the series title. In almost all other cases, the working title is never the actual title. Here that was not the case. I was wrong and expect to be clapped back appropriately.
