News? Stories from Dubious Sources

Complete horseshit..........started with a video from Egotastic FunTime. I don't even understand why people share items known to be fake. Just helps it spread.

Meh. Everyone always "runs out" in stories cooked up by these "sources". In their universe, Jonathan Frakes ran off the PIC set "in tears because it's so bad" and now McFarlane "ran out" of the meeting with CBS... interesting how much running off/out there seems to be these days.:lol:

JP is now a total joke.

I really, really, really want for it to be true, but I need something more credible than the usual "trusted/unnamed sources at CBS have stated that...".

Yeah, looking at the second-hand source, I'm afraid this qualifies as quite dubious.

Now if somebody wanted to create an umbrella Pike show anticipation thread, they'd be free to post dubious rumors about it there.

I'm going to throw myself into the ring as a dubious source, with something I've just heard from a very reliable fountain of information that would directly know this:

Alex Kurtzman / Secret Hideout is developing a new Mission Impossible TV series called ‘Mission Impossible - Syndicate’ that will directly spin-off from the 7th and 8th films, with a character Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet have created for the films with Christopher McQuarrie, played by Hayley Atwell.

Simply not sure how much this will interest me? We already know the fates of the Enterprise, Pike and Spock. They would have to create some really compelling secondary characters.
There's 8 years between DSC Season 2 and TOS Season 1. There is a lot of stories they can tell with Pike, Spock and Number One.

Especially Number One, we have no idea what happens to her before TOS.

Knowing the fates of characters doesn't really tie them down creatively in this time period, because we know nothing about what happened to them.

The rumour that production on the new seasons of all the live action shows is being pushed back to make way for something appears to be true. Maybe they'll announce a crossover film or miniseries on 20th February?

Why would CBS sell the one asset that is keeping All-Access afloat, and making them bank in the international markets?

It sounded more like someone's wish fulfillment than an actual rumor based on anything coming out of CBS or NBC.

Shari Redstone, supreme empress at CBSViacom, has stated that Star Trek was the crown jewel of CBS/Paramount. The only thing that upseted her was that she wanted Star Trek in broadcast form not streaming. After fighting so hard to unify CBS and Paramount I really doubt she wants to sell Star Trek. More likely McFarlane pitched a ST series or movie and CBSViacom turned him down.

Or they are getting ready for the writer's strike :(

Two of you main characters and the ship, you won't be able to do anything overly dramatic with. The show will end up like the TOS novels and comics, where all the toys have to be returned to the box the way they were found.

There is nothing wrong with that. "The Mandalorian" was pretty low key and it worked.
