News? Stories from Dubious Sources

According to the four Berman-era TNG movies, Crusher is a nobody. So I’m not sure why anyone would be up in arms that she’s not in STP.

In the TNG-Berman flicks, everyone was a cardboard cutout action figure for a reunion party diorama with cake and ice cream except the cake is made of sawdust and the ice cream makes everyone fat and hyper-diabetic. "Generations" was the best but went downhill from there in that regard, though at least FC and INS were directed with some panache. And INS tried to be like a TNG episode, apart from Jean-Luc McLane in those action sequences toward the end where they forgot to replace the blue screen with whatever... hmmm, there's an idea...

Probably BS but you never know..
According to our sources – the same ones who told us Ewan McGregor was returning as Obi-Wan back in May, and that an Aladdin sequel was in development, both of which were later confirmed – Paramount – owned by Viacom – has eyes on doing a new movie starring Stewart as Picard at some point. Apparently, it could either be after the show ends or during its run. Whichever one they decide to go with, it’s definitely something that’s being considered behind the scenes and it’d presumably follow the continuity of the show and feature other Picard cast members, too.

This sounds semi-plausible, believe it or not. If Picard can get the taste of Nemesis out of everyone's mouth, they could make a movie with him, coasting off both X-Men and TNG fame at the same time. If the films can't continue with him, the supporting cast can step up from then on.

And it fits the trend of Star Trek following Star Wars' lead (and I say this as someone who's not a Star Wars person). When Star Wars went to prequels, Star Trek followed suit. Now that Star Wars has moved out of prequels, Star Trek is following suit again.

EDIT: Strong emphasis on the semi in "semi-plausible".

If I go to watch Nemesis on Amazon, the little factoid that pops up at the beginning says "Did you know: Patrick Stewart was paid more for starring in Star Trek: Nemesis than he was for all seven seasons of The Next Generation combined."

How much does it cost to put Patrick Stewart in a Star Trek movie?

According to one of the supposed story leaks for the Tarantino movie (which I'm pretty sure isn't happening now), Patrick Stewart was in it, along with William Shatner and Chris Pine.
Would prefer they just stick with Pine. The last time Shatner and Stewart were on-screen together Kirk died. I don't want to revisit that.

The new theme song for Midnight's Edge.
