News? Stories from Dubious Sources

Apparently Doomcuck's latest has bIG PicARd spOILeRs saying Picard dies at the end.

Of course he does. It's his ghost that'll star in season two.
If he means Picard dies at the end of whatever Season They finish the show at (3,4,5?), then he ain't as psychic as he'd like to think he is.
:rolleyes:

If Picard can just hold out eleven more years to 2410, he can drop into The Nexus again as his happy ending, forgoing death entirely.

Everything points to them throwing as many old 80's/90's trek actors as they can cram into the season. It may not officially be what the show is about, and it may not have been the original intention, but that's what its becoming. If I wanted to see that I could just view a panel at a con. Obviously I am going to watch and I hope to be impressed, but I really had no interest in Star Trek: Last of the Summer Wine.

I foolishly looked at Twitter comments and came across a thread of outraged complaints that Crusher wasn't included, as she is such an essential figure in Picard's life. This was apparently a sign that Kurtzman hates "classic Trek" (sic) fans, and was trying to dispense with them.

No doubt a similar argument could be made with respect to Guinan.

I hope the writers ignore such calls.

Whoopi Goldberg is busy with The Stand, anyway, from what I hear. Mother Abigail is a much bigger role than showing up for a few minutes as Guinan. Weirdly, Guinan would have been one of the few returning characters I would have liked to have seen, but it's better to keep a bit of mystery about her.

According to the four Berman-era TNG movies, Crusher is a nobody. So I’m not sure why anyone would be up in arms that she’s not in STP.

There's a specific thread pinned to the top of this forum for these kind of videos.

Especially since you just stuck here without even making your own comment about that particular theory.
(the Mod's are not fond of hit & run tactics)

Also, this has already been discussed in at least two other threads around here.

I'm not watching the video. But I have to ask: How much does The Popcast hate Picard?

Please use the following scale. I call it The Official Haterade Scale:

Level 1 --> Mild Hatred
Level 2 --> Moderate Hatred
Level 3 --> Deep Hatred
Level 4 --> Deeper Hatred than they have for Voyager
Level 5 --> Deeper Hatred than they have for Enterprise
Level 6 --> Deeper Hatred than they have for the Abrams Films
Level 7 --> Deeper Hatred than they have for Discovery
Level 8 --> They'd rather have Section 31 than Picard

So how much do they hate it?

I'd make an exception for Seven of Nine. (She's a great character and a great foil for Picard. She thinks nothing of getting in his face. She'll say what his crew can't -- or won't.)

Seven is Xena to Picard's Hercules: A complicated character with a dark past.

I think I'd be a -9 on that scale.
