News? Stories from Dubious Sources

Jonathan Frakes is contracted to appear in every season finale of every Star Trek series from here on out, including Star Trek: Khan on Ceti Alpha V in 1992. He will also be retroactively inserted into other finales over time, including completely replacing Janice Lester in "Turnabout Intruder". He will, however, be removed from "These Are the Voyages", as it is generally agreed that one was a mistake.

Forgive me if this has been posted, but has anyone shared the Season 4 Disco rumors recently posted on Reddit? I thought they had a least a semblance of a ring of possible truth to them...or at least creative effort in fabrication.

  • Season 4 will make us of a larger AR wall which has been erected in Etobicoke--larger than the Mandalorian's.
  • An early episode will involve the ship losing gravity. A set was build for a scene where gravity is reset upside down, and much of the shooting involved the cast on wires.
  • There is an episode involving a snowy planet that was filmed in a quarry in Uxbridge, Ontario. The weather was poor and there were a few injuries.
  • There's a scene in a temple.
  • Sonequa and Doug are amazing people.
I rarely put any stock in this sort of thing, but hey, it's not like we have a lot to talk about right now.

Well, the first two seem to be more-or-less confirmed by the panels today.

(shows #2 around 30 seconds in)

So only #3 and #4 in question then?

season 4 will be the final season for Discovery

Maybe. I mean, I don't see exactly where the show could go from here. I was hoping for seven years, but they already have Burnham as Captain, and are heading off to unite the Federation and restore the galaxy after solving the Burn issue. All the pieces seem to be in place to end the show, if that's what they are wont to do.

Of course, evidence against this is that they haven't announced it as the "Final Season," so one would presume that they at least wrote it expecting there to be a fifth season. Maybe it will go into hiatus and feature into the suspected movie being produced. Discovery, like it or not, is the flagship show, so I don't think it will end as easily as some of the other spinoffs could.

Check the date on Cyrus’ post.

No fucking way! Seriously, he said he was terrified of playing Shinzon before and while he was filming, and subsequently had a nervous breakdown after Nemesis was released, due to its horrible fan and critic reception, and damn near drank himself to death.

I HIGHLY doubt he will ever reprise that role now that he's gotten his career back on track from that dumpster fire.

If they got Patrick Stewart to play Shinzon... well... THEN I would be excited. But, yeah that article refers to 'We got this covered' as a source. Quite dubious.

If Patrick Stewart had played Shinzon in Nemesis that would have made the movie SIGNIFICANTLY better. No offensive to Tom Hardy intended.

Discovery has already been renewed for a fifth season, so season 4 won't be its last season (unless they decided to cancel season 5, which I doubt).

I don't think I have to tell anyone that GFR is fake (especially when people doubt my own credibility here). Hardy coming back as Shinzon wouldn't even make sense as he's a very busy man. He has lots of projects coming up including a James Bond movie.
