Telecom has cancelled its controversial ad campaign calling on fans to abstain from sex over the Rugby World Cup.
The campaign, which was to be fronted by former All Blacks captain Sean Fitzpatrick and launched next week, was met with ridicule from the general public.
Telecom confirmed to 3 News this morning it was now being pulled.

Just shows how different this country is from conservative nations like America.

If they had made this ad funny and more tongue in cheek about only rooting for the All Blacks it might have gone better. I have no interest in their message but I wouldn't made their ring/band just for the sake of it. Seems like a nice bit of quirky memorabilia of the tournament.

Brilliant! Who needs to learn proper condom use? Trial and error is how to do it. After a few unwanted pregnancies and STIs those kids will figure it out.
