New York Comic-Con?

ClayinCA

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - I was wondering which authors, if any, are going to New York Comic-Con next weekend. I assume KRAD and TerriO and David Mack might be there (if memory serves, you're all fellow New Yorkers), but I wondered who else might be attending...?

The Mack Daddy and I will both be there, yes -- TerriO won't, as comics aren't her thing (she'll be working on her Stargate Atlantis novel in the peace and quiet of my absence :D). Bob Greenberger will be present, as will S.C.E. contributors Paul Kupperberg, Glenn Hauman, and Aaron Rosenberg.

I'll only be there Friday and Saturday, as Sunday I'll be going for my advanced brown belt karate promotion.

You can check the website at http://www.nycomiccon.com .

A quick look at the panel listing shows:

IDW 10th Anniversary Celebration and the Road Ahead: Friday 3:13 PM
Hosted by IDW Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall, this key panel features upcoming news and announcements as well as a great Q&A with guest panelists Peter David (Fallen Angel, Sir Apropos of Nothing), Mike Costa (GI Joe: Cobra), J.K. Woodward (Fallen Angel), Andy Schmidt (Transformers and Star Trek), and Scott Tipton (Star Trek)! Find out what's new with Locke & Key, Star Trek, Doctor Who, and more!

Star Trek in Print: Sunday 11AM
A round table with some of the biggest names in publishing speaking about where the USS Enterprise is, has, and will be heading in the literary galaxy. Panelists include Margaret Clark, Andy Schmidt, David Mack, Peter David, and Robert Greenberger (moderator).

I'll be autographing at Pocket's booth Saturday from 5.30-6.30. I might be doing something at BOOM!'s booth, as well, promoting my Farscape comic.

I'll be signing copies of Shards and Shadows and the Destiny trilogy at the Pocket booth on Sunday, from 12:30pm–1:30pm, after the "Star Trek in Print" panel.

Hey, Keith, you forgot someone. I'll be there as well, and my signing will be Saturday from 4-5 PM. I'll also try to be at both those panels, at least in the audience.

^ I wasn't sure if you were gonna make it in or not, Christopher, and I figured you'd be by soon enough to confirm or deny. :)

TerriO usually shows up at DragonCon in Atlanta if you want to try to catch her. I have no idea if she will be there this year though.

Considering there's a Torchwood series 3 promo that's supposed to premiere at NYCC, I might show my face up there as a fan and not a pro. I haven't decided yet.

And yeah, I've already put in my guest registration for DragonCon this year. Right now, it's looking like you'll find me in the SF Lit track, the TrekTrak, MAYBE the Stargate track (they haven't decided whether to do separate writing panels on fanfic and novels yet, I'm lobbying for it), Brit Track and whatever else I can weasel myself onto. :)

I'll also be at Farpoint, Lunacon, Shore Leave, and as many as we can fit in and afford before the wedding at the end of August.

Well, as a non-author, do I count? I'm taking my two younger kids to their first ever convention (and my first ComicCon; *my* first convention was the 1976 Star Trek Convention at the Commodore Hotel) for the Sunday kids day. I would love to attend the ST book panel (and meet some of you folks in real life), but I'll likely be at more, say, kid-focused panels or booths instead. If you see a tallish guy with a black suede yarmulke chasing around a blond boy and brunette (unless she wears her Supergirl wig) girl, that will be I. {ProfJonathan}

^ I won't be there on Sunday, unfortunately, so looks like we'll miss each other.....

Looking forward to seeing you all there (especially as I've never yet had the pleasure of meeting Christopher)!

I need to get back to NYCC one year. It'd be a nice break from the winter doldrums of KC.

Oh, wait....

I would love to go this year as I live in NY, but it's physically impossible for me to be there this year. (Sadly, they have yet to clone people yet).

Hopefully someone there will post the Star Trek news on this board.

I get to go for free because of my job, otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford it either. Won't be buying much though, if anything. :(
