It had a pinch of Buffy before now a pinch of Twilight. The quote actually seems fairly innocuous when read in its entirety, I'm not too worried.
I just really hope that that dark and moody promotional art they released for Smith's Doctor won't portend the general tone of Series Five. I don't want to see Doctor Who turn into an angsty Twilight clone.
Lol, I really doubt Moffat or anyone else behind the scenes really gives a crap about Twilight or following it's lead.
I know, I'm just thinking out loud.
What does it even mean though?Loving the dark fairytale idea!
The direction (especially the tree-jumping scene) was one of the only things I liked about Twilight. (Catherine Hardwicke is a nutjob, though.)It has been pointed out on the DW Livejournal comm that the full interview in DWM is mostly to do with camerawork, and another part that wasn't quoted by Digital Spy basically has Moffat and the other guy talking about how they were trying for a new style in terms of cinematography. Which will have faint hints of Harry Potter and Twilight (presumably the second movie, as the first one's cinematography SUCKED, but I heard New Moon's was actually pretty good).

Didn't RTD once say one of his inspirations to how he presented Doctor Who was Buffy?
What is it about vampire franchises that inspire Doctor Who producers?
Does not sound promising.![]()
