New Who inspired by Twilight says Exec Producer

Uh oh, something tells me THAT's not going to go over well. lol

I'm not concerned though. There's always been a fairytale quality to Moffat's stories, and I didn't expect the new series to be any different. All they're saying is they're going to play up the magic and wonder a little more, that's all.

I was horrified when I saw the thread title, but once I read the article, my fears were assuaged.

Yeah. Same here. All they're doing is the same stuff that Doctor Who writers have been doing for years. DW has always been a hodgepodge of styles. Anyone pay attention during the Tom Baker era?

I almost stopped liking this show.

Hopefully the writing and acting will be better than Twilight.

Haha, RTD would never have gotten away with saying that.
you think this guy will get away with saying that, Piers Wenger had better avoid fans until the 12th Doctor or at least until Amy Pond leaves.

GBase was complaining about how Matt & Karen looked twilight esque within minutes of her being announced, (or within minutes of them having gotten bored of declaring her the sexiest woman in the world.)

Oh, dear. I'm more worried about the fan reaction than the actual influence. I bet Gallifrey Base is about to explode.

I don't like to think of my Doctor Who writers as having seen Twilight. Mainly because I don't like to think of my Doctor Who writers as being vampire-fetishising girls in their early teens.

What if they were watching Twilight to make fun of it?

Then they should have the good grace to post their findings on a Twilight forum and make themselves unpopular on it.

I get the distinct impression that when they talk about a "pinch" of Twilight, they're referring more to aspects of character dynamics than to actual plots.
