New voice of the ship's computer

If there is another series, who should be the voice of the ship's computer? Should it be a male or female voice? Should it be a cast member of a previous series?

My dream casting would be:
James Earl Jones
Patrick Stewart
Michael Dorn
Leonard Nimoy
Avery Brooks
Eric Millegan
Christopher Plumber

Others who I think would be good:
Linda Hamilton (I just like her voice)
Sigourney Weaver
Seth MacFarlane (Using a Brian-ish voice)
John Facenda (If he could be brought back to life.)
Julie Andrews (Who could not love her?)

Those who think would just be fun to have as the computer voice:
Paul Lynde (Even though he's dead, but MacFarlane could do it.)
Richard Simmons
Maggie Wheeler (Doing her "Janice" voice)

Well those are my pics. Who would you like to see?

The British actress Zoe Wannamaker would be excellent.

Or the actress who did the voice of Hexadecimal in ReBoot, for that extra hint of irony and squee.

Should it be a cast member of a previous series?

Why not Judi Durand? She did just fine on DS9 (she was the Cardassian computer voice) and in ST III (the Spacedock voice).

Just listen to ST III during the scene where the Enterprise is trying to get out of spacedock. Supposedly it's a computer, but Judi just loads it down with sarcasm. "Danger...Space doors are CLOSED..." :guffaw:

Seth MacFarlane (Using a Brian-ish voice)

I think that'd be different and interesting, to have a male voice. I love Seth MacFarlane's Brian voice (i.e. his own voice). Although I don't think JJ will go for it.

OMG I never even knew this before. But as soon as you mentioned the Spacedock voice from STIII I heard it in my head right away. Then I read your next paragraph and was like "yup, was just thinking that".

Anyway I think she'd be a great choice as well.

My vote goes to 'Reuse sound clips of Majel'. :(

I also like this idea. They have tons of her voice on file. Even if they had to create new sentences she's never said before, it could work. But seriously. How many times has she said "affirmative" and "negative" and "ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one" and "stardate". The only problem with this I can think of is that there might be slight variations in her voice from episode to episode so they might clash with each other.

Phone sex operator. That would be...interesting.

Ensign: "Computer, run a simulation on the ionization of the cross-polarac neutron flux capacitors and its effects on my burrito."
Computer <In a new sexy voice>: "Oh yes, I love it when you talk dirty to me, lick my ass."
Ensign: "...what!?"

Hello. Captain. You're. Quite. Good. At. Turning. Me. On.

</Simpsons reference>

I loved the computer voice in "Sunshine", maybe a little too saucy for Star Trek but it was excellent.

....Carrie Fisher... DONT KILL ME!!!!!! The reason why is because she has a mother like touch to her voice and thats what Majel had.

Nichelle Nichols occasionally played the voice in TAS. (She did it when Majel wasn't in the episode.) How about her?
