New TV spot!

I saw another new spot this afternoon on Fox watching the Sox/Angels game. It seems to be a take on the last ad, with the Rock music theme. Had a few new shots, and seemed a bit longer then usual, even though I may be mistaken, since I heard it in the other room, and ran in to see the rest.

I think i saw the same one. I recorded the mummy from this morning, it showed during half way through the movie. Its seems to be a re-edit of the 'last tv spot from the UFC. Showed some new scenes and the title card was "This is not your father's Star Trek", which i have a feeling many people will not like. I did like it, keeps looking better and better.

Intersting, i havnt seen any tv spots over here in the UK.

However, after searching the internet after reading this thread, ive found a tv spot that is 'Kid friendly' with some new footage i havnt seen yet.

It appears to show how Scotty is soaking wet on the bridge of the Enterprise. It has tubes and water, kinda like a flume or something with Scotty going thorugh with Kirk shouting.

Whats funny is, I've been hearing people seeing all these TV spots on TV this pass couple of weeks. But for me nothing. I watch tv a lot during the week. Shows like chuck, heroes, house, fringe, ncis, survivor, and so on, but nothing. Finally i caught one during The Mummy, a new one none the less. So im happy now. Just odd havent seen alot on the network shows. I guess still a month away. Cant wait!

I think that they are targeting the TV ads on programs and channels which aren't considered typical trek fan viewing material...

UFC, Baseball, ect. So I don't think shows like Chuck, Heroes, House, Fringe, NCIS, B.B.T., ect are being market targeted.

I'm not sure if it is the TV spot you guys have been discussing here, but I was shocked to see a Trek commercial during Sports Center this morning. It looked really good, clips from the movie with music from the ad that has been running in theaters. This was the first one I'd seen on TV and I was impressed. Not sure how much they are spending on advertising, but generally speaking I don't think the Sunday Morning Sports Guys are the key dompgraphic they are looking to bring in. I'd bet they are pretty confident at this point they have a big opening...they are just trying to make the May 8th and May 10th numbers as big as possible.
