Okay...not really. A poster over at the official forum made one of his own and was getting some rave reviews, and I felt I could try my hand and do a sufficiently authentic version. So let me know...did I fool anyone or should I keep brushing up on my skills? ;) BTW, that is Vektor's Enterprise used for the poster.

You may all kick my ass now.

Outside of the Enterprise, you had me fooled. Without that, you'd have had people really guessing.

So. Is it just Vektor's NCC-1701 that's the fake part? Or is the whole thing just a clever, sharp fake?

That looks awesome! Nice work!

You know, when I opened this, I thought "No way would good old Flux try to hoodwink us. This has to be real!" At least you didn't claim it was authentic.

I guess using Vektor's version was a bit of wishful thinking. Many other posters use Gabe Koerner's version and that seemed to scream "fake" even more. I'm glad there seems to be at least a touch of authenticity to the poster, since that's what I was going for. :)

That's a great poster. I wouldn't be surprised if we got an official one in the same vain.

I would be very surprised if we did. I do like the poster, but it feels too obvious an arrangement for Abrams and co to use as a marketing tool.

I think it's just the fact that the Enterprise is on the poster at all, not that there's anything wrong with the Enterprise image itself. It just stands out from the other elements of the poster, like someone just kinda pasted it on there as an afterthought.

That's a very good job. However, there are a few elements that stick out as not being official. Firstly, as mentioned before, the Enterprise.

Second, I highly doubt they will use that font for "Star Trek". After viewing the teaser trailer, and other promotional materials, it appears they are using the "Zekton" font, or something very close. I imagine the official logo will use the same font. The date appears to be a different font, but I'm not sure what.

Below is a logo I made with the Zekton font to show you what I mean.

Overall, though, you did fantastic. Great job!

I figured they may used the "retro font" based on the fact that they used it for the ComiCon 07 poster, but I agree that the actual teaser poster may have a more contemporary typeface used.

I will refer you to this post which is Pinned at the top of each forum. You obviously haven't read it, since it very clearly states the maximum sizes for pictures, which you just went and completely ignored. That's warning worthy.

And I will refer you in turn to this button

which should have been all the action you needed to take.

But, of course, you already knew that.

Of course I knew that. Since I did that. And you know I know, cuz you received it.
