New trailer for Syfy's "Riverworld"

TV Lowdown

Ensign
Red Shirt
The 4-hour miniseries, based on Philip Jose Farmer's novels about a strange world where the human race go after death, has a new trailer.

Watch the trailer here.

I have to admit, while the story sounds very interesting, I've not been drawn in by the trailer. I'll mainly be watching for Tahmoh Penikett, who was great on BSG (and good but less great on Dollhouse).

^^and they should all be tossed out an airlock for it.

ALL of them, right down to the janitors!

Didn't Sci-fi do this one already, or am I thinking of something else?

[EDIT] That's what I get for not refreshing my tabs!

God the first one was horrible, wikipedia claims it was a pilot that was never picked up, all I remember was that it took 2 hours to get somewhere and that was the end.

The trailer looks... OK I guess. After the last one it couldn't be any worse.

Looks to me that they're veering off in the same direction the first miniseries did.

The wrong one, IMHO.

The trailer makes it look like some sort of nuBSG/Stargate SG-1 mashup with the same old locations -- trees, more trees, lakes, medieval craft-fair villages, and so on. I see that the human race is being resurrected fully clothed in this version. Once again they've chosen not to have Sir Richard Burton (the explorer) as the protagonist, which is a pity.

It doesn't look great, but after te last one I have extremely low standards.
