New toys for 2010(another look at new screwdriver)

I wish they'd come out with a major set of all the Doctors. (Not sure if that would include the "Shalka" Doctor or the alternate first Doctor from "The Five Doctors".)

Of course, I suppose I'd then also want a re-release of all the companions so you can get as many as you want.

While the PoM Fourth Doctor is nice, and courtesy of a friend in the UK I picked up two for the regular shop price... there was some shoddy work involved.

The eyebrows were horribly painted, on most figures they disappear under the hairline. But, worst of all, they only painted one side of the scarf, The back is blank white.

COOL.

The new sonic screwriver looks so cool. We got another close-ish look at it in the recen issue of DWMagazine, with the huge poster of Smith. THe sonic screwdriver pointing outward

Looks so cool, i have the Tennant/Ecclestone toy version, its ok, but its still toy-ish. The newer one looks awsome and looks as if it has more to it than just a blue light...

Maybe its a swiss-army-sonic-screwdriver.:p

I've got the newer Tenth Doctor Sonic Screwdriver, the one that comes with the psychic paper that's the actual wallet-looking one instead of the pad of notepaper. I've already run out of ink in the ballpoint nib of the screwdriver; I was using it it in class to see if anyone would recognize it and maybe I'd meet a fellow Whovian, LOL.

I did have a couple people ask about the other nib, and they thought the invisible ink + UV light was awesome.

So far, it hasn't done any breaking, and that's with carrying in a big bag weighed down with tons of textbooks.

I would totally love to get the Eleventh Doctor's screwdriver, since I could always use a real screwdriver.

A whole bunch of those items definitely appeal to me; I love office toys. LOL

I've always been bummed that my screwdriver came with two "visible" ink nibs.

That's ok. The invisible ink nib didn't last long. Long enough for a few things to be written on the walls regarding a lousy landlord though. Wonder if the next tenants ever had a party with a black light. :D

And Clay, if I ever do I will... but I don't see it happening for a few years at least.

No worries, mate! Don't blame you in the slightest. :)

Boy i'm stupid. I see comments about the screwdriver being an actual screwdriver. I must have glossed over that point when I posted it.

Way cool and definitely worth the buy.

Now I don't have to point a fake light at things. I can actually help someone now with a screwdriver!

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who ended up leaving messages on the walls... just in case

Just got my shipping notice from Mike's Comics.

My Classic Wave 2 Set is on the way. Yay me!

And I'd really recommend Mike's if you want to save a few dollars. He's selling every figure in the set for $12.99 USD. I just checked WhoNA out of curiosity... They've got different prices on all the figures. The Morbius Monster for example is $20.

Same here. :techman:

I just got the Cyberman myself. Not really interested in any of the other figures. I'm surprised I was still able to get an order for that figure in. That figure is in very high demand.

Agreed.

Yeah, I've been more or less a WhoNA loyalist for a while, having bought many products from them. Of course, by the time I found out they were selling the figures individually the Cyberman had been sold out for a day already, which is why I went to Mike's Comics. That's probably for the best, since the price was no doubt higher at WhoNA.

^ On the other hand, I've only called once (when I gave them my credit card info). They always respond to e-mails within a couple hours, and send the stuff out promptly.

I think what we're all saying is, Mike's Comics provide excellent customer service, by phone or email, and I think we're all very happy with our experiences.
