New To Brave the Storm cover

Interesting cover... though I find it odd to see a DY class ship on the cover involved in an interstellar battle.

Its only because I enjoy Trek and I am a completist would I read this novel, but I agree with Bill J.

Meh. Micheal Martin's name on the cover kills it for me.

Why would that be?

My guess would be because Seize the Fire, Martin's other solo effort, was so terrible; also, from what I've gathered on these boards, the Enterprise Romulan War series isn't well-liked (or, at least, the people who don't like it are more vocal about it.)

Finally, an ENT cover with some pizzazz. I liked The Good that Men Do's well enough, but this one will catch some eyes in the bookstore.

:techman: I like the new cover I can't wait for this book to finally come out in a few months.

I dunno... I miss the olden days with covers that were more than photomanips and starship fights. Don't get me wrong, I'm into the techie end of things, so the occassional starship covers (for example, I love Vanguard's covers) are fine... but I have to admit missing the variety (and yes, at times, campyness) that at times set apart the early Trek covers.

For example, I am reading Time for Yesterday at the moment. Spock's uniform looks too tight, the black strip on the flap is too narrow and improperly positioned, and the shoulder strap is far too diminuitive, and yet it instills somewhat more consideration than many recent covers.

Of course, it could just be the sentimentalist in me too...
