New Stargate Video Game in 2010 (NOT SG-W)

Great news but why not 1st person most likely using some spinoff of the MMO engine I guess. I want a proper single player game that is 1st person not a pure online 3rd person which is probably only there to get some attention for the upcoming MMO.

The game will be released in the first quarter of 2010, according to the site.

Players will be able to work with teammates in three multiplayer modes (up to 16 players at once): “Team Death Match,” “Capture the Tech,” and “Domination.” Additional game modes are planned for release shortly after the game’s launch.

The game will be available for the PC only, and is powered by the Unreal 3 engine.

A third-person 'Stargate' game that ran on the engine from 'Uncharted 2' would be freaking SWEET.

Good! While it certainly doesn't seem as cool as the canceled Stargate SG-1: The Alliance game did, it's better than no Stargate shooter at all.

Why was that game canceled? Wasn't it almost finish and had the voice acting done?

...yep. They even used the game engine in an episode during season eight, didn't they? Or has Stargate Worlds been delayed that long?

The game footage from "Avatar" was designed by the same people behind SG-1: The Alliance. It was pretty much done, but the two companies that were behind it had a falling out and the one who got to keep it went out of business. I think that was the tale behind it.
