New Stargate game to be released February 10

No, not the MMORPG, but rather a third person shooter.

The game is called Stargate: Resistance. A few details:

Only for the PC.
Online multiplayer only (no single player campaign).
You play as part of one of two factions: human or Goa'uld.
Can only be obtained via download from the website.
The game is priced at $19.95

Minimum System Requirements
• Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
• 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
• 512 Mbytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

Recommended System Requirements
• 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
• 1 GBytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

Yeah, no thank you. If they want to release a multiplayer only Stargate game, why not finish the damned MMORPG?

I'm pretty sure that's part of the reason they're releasing this. It was something they could slap together out of MMORPG assets to staunch the flow of money out of the studio.

I looked at their site and it reminds me a lot of Planetside, which was a blast. If this were a first person shooter I'd probably go for it, but not as a 3rd person game.

Yes. Going by the countdown timer on the website, it will be available beginning 2AM Eastern, which is just a couple hours from the time this post was made. Remember that you can't buy it from a store, it's a download-only game.
