New Star Wars animated show "Rebels" coming fall 2014

Hey, my philosophy is the more Ashley Eckstein the better. ;) I'd like to see them involve her in an upcoming project or projects at some point along the way. Animated or a live, breathing actress I know a lot of Ahsoka fans who'd be excited.

I wouldn't be unopposed to seeing an adult, aging Ahsoka in one of the ST films as a survivor of the Purge who somehow managed to remain alive into the post-Imperial era.

And the video is up...

Am I wrong to think a female Mandolorian with a pink helmet with a curvy, almost heart shaped visor is a little on the nose?

To be fair, I was highly sceptical regarding the way they were presenting Ashoka early on, so of course I'll reserve judgement...but still...

I'll try to remain open minded about Sabine. As I've stated elsewhere, Ahsoka grated on my nerves when The Clone Wars was new and it took a while to get used to and like her. Normally the cutesy young girl with the cocky expression and pink splashed throughout her outfit wouldn't inspire the greatest confidence, but after the last series I'm willing to give a new Star Wars character a try.

My doubts about Ahsoka were largely quelled in the original feature film, and I went into that blind. It was clear enough in my mind what they were going for by then. Pretty much all the groundwork for Ahsoka's development was laid in the feature film.

Hmm, not much of a stretch to think the male characters are probably going to have the hots for her. Either way, sounds like the character could be pretty fun.

In fact I like how all these characters are shaping up. Can't wait to see how they all interact with each other.

Ahsoka is still a terrible character though.
Are you judging by the character she grew into becoming? Or the one that was presented to us in the original movie?

I have never seen the film. My experiences with her mostly was through the the television series. I found her character nauseating and almost every episode that centered around her to be terrible. You can tell though the creator commentaries that she was the favorite character of the head director, Dave Filoni. It definitely colored in the most negative ways how he developed her character.

^ How much of the later episodes did you see?

I agree, early on, she grated on me ... and her "banter" with Anakin was clearly a weak element to the show (I don't miss hearing "Sky Guy"). She was often immature for the sake of showing how much more mature Anakin was by comparison. But as her character matured on the show, I found that she became much more interesting, engaging and complex. By the final arc of Season 5, which was very much centered around her, I thought she was legitimately strong as a character.

Ahsoka's final episodes rank as some of the best in the first five years of the series if you ask me. There were moments she outshone Anakin and was a more dynamic character, and that's saying something when you remember who Anakin is and what he's going to become.

I'm not crazy about a lot of what's been shown. It kind of seems a bit dumbed down from Clone Wars. I'll definitely give it a shot though and hope to be surprised.

In that case, I'd encourage you to watch the last four episodes of Season 5. Perhaps your perception will change. I think she really comes into her own in those episodes, particularly by the very last shot. If anything will get you to see her character as something other than "terrible" those will be it. ;)

The final Cartoon Network episodes involving Ahsoka and Barriss are just top-notch and some of the greatest writing I've ever seen in the entire series. If those episodes don't sway somebody to liking her a little bit more then nothing will.
