New Species Revamps on DSC?

No wonder we never get to see the whole crew like this in STAR TREK, anymore ... they're damned ugly, most of them.
Calling a bunch of perfectly normal looking people ugly.
... Sure looks like it.
Reiterating that they're ugly and not up to the standards you approve of for people to appear in films.
I dunno. The brunette's kinda hot, actually ...

Posting a totally unrelated to the topic video (yes, I know the other poster mentioned Days of Our Lives) just to call a woman hot and compare her to all the "ugly people" in the TMP pic on the same day you got an infraction for making sexist remarks in another forum. Seriously, dude?

Warning for trolling. Comments to PM.

Arcturians from TMP. Visually, they might as well be the Zakdorn, but their backstory is mental:

A militaristic race of great armies. All are identical – they clone each other, can only tell apart by color of uniforms. Provide infantry for Federation. Planet is enormous and population enormous, subject to any amount of expansion; 100 billion population, army of 20 billion ready overnight. Click!

Where were these guys when the Jem'Hadar were causing trouble?
Given that TNG banned artificial cloning, their background might need tweaking but a race that reproduces through natural cloning is still pretty interesting. Only one gender and everyone can produce their own mini me.

Andorians, Arcturians, Deltans, Saurians, and Zaranites are my favourites. Deltans could be really interesting if the focused on their pheromone sensitivity and control rather than making them boring psychic empaths.

It'd be funny if they did a Rigel conference, where every native Rigelian species in the system were represented. You'd have human-looking Rigelians, Vulcan-looking Rigelians, turtle looking Rigelains, ENT-looking Rigelians, and maybe throw in a new one that's even more out there make-up wise...maybe a non-humanoid.

I'd love to see them try to do a turtle (chelonoid) Rigelian that you could take seriously. ...same with the piggish Tellarites really -- DSC's Tellarites look to atavistic, I think.

I wonder what the first iterations of the Trek bible said about UESPA/Space Control/whatever?
Did you mean to post this in this thread? (I was holding off on responding until I was sure you weren't going to move it somewhere else.) I've never come across a version of the TOS writers' guide earlier than the third revision from 17 April 1967 online, so I can't help you there, sadly. Maybe try asking in the TOS forum? I'd be interested to know, too.

As for what ultimately ended up on screen, here are a few considerations I worked up a while back for other threads:
https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/federation-founders.291276/page-6#post-12287442
https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/uss-franklin-issue.281970/page-3#post-11650342

(I'll just leave links to those posts, and let you explore the context of those discussions further as you please, rather than repeating the content here and creating a lengthier digression from this one. Suffice it to say, there's room for a great deal of speculative interpretation on such matters.)

^ I kinda like how all over the place this thread is going. It makes more sense than Picardverse threads that are too heavy on speculation and rudeness. We know nothing; let’s just have some fun.

So, 1) how would you design a Romulan DS9, 2) what would you wish they’d included in a TOS series bible, and 3) what other aliens would you like to see revamped?

I like the cyborg on the Discovery’s bridge btw. Like with the Bynars, there’s room to play with that. It’d be interesting to see aliens with implants or just breathing apparatuses, as we’ve seen in TMP, TVH, or even in Star Wars or Babylon 5 — Vorlon “encounter suits” anyone?
