New Series?

After a bit of research I stumbled on what looks like another ST Series!

Star Trek Cardinal

http://www.startrekcardinal.com/

Im not to sure if this has been posted before, but if not, well, enjoy!

My first thoughts of Cardinal was that it's not very Star Trek looking, with the ship design and all!

Discuss, what do you think?

The only idea I care about is Star Trek: CBS Will Jump At the Chance to Make This, Instead of CSI: Paducah.

Edit: okay I read it. Not as bad as a lot of stuff I've read, but not very Star Trekky. More JMS style, I'd say. A few of the problems:
With the major powers of the galaxy joined together as friends, many members of Starfleet felt that peace would last forever.
Even Starfleet cannot be that dumb.
The races of the galaxy were forced together before they were ready to truly be united, and the great hope of the galaxy that eternal peace was in their grasp had slipped through their fingers.
So? The Rommies and Klingons and Feddies go back to squabbling. That didn't cause a catastrophe before the Dominion War, so why should it cause one afterwards?

The synopsis doesn't fit in with the political framework of the Alpha Quadrant as outlined by DS9. Needs a rewrite. Or just change all the proper names and make it non-Trek, which strikes me as a much better idea. Create your own universe and you don't have to make it fit anything.

For better or worse, it seems almost unthinkable that a new Trek series would be launched by the network based on a fan concept.

So, you registered here just to post a link to your web page?

Your logic is wrong my friend, I'm just a treky fan! More voyager and Enterprise though. Never quite liked DS9 or The Next Generation, suppose I'm a bit to young!

Where you sit determines what you see.

Not necessarily, I've seen a lot of sarcasm, insults, and foul language thrown at people from your corner is all. I was just wondering why. The author of this post didn't seem like he was plugging his site...your sarcasm might have been unneeded?

Tell you one thing, I never had anticipated getting flamed... All I want to do is talk Star Trek... Kinda hard to find someone my age who watches it -_- (I'm 17 if you are wondering...)

Tweezy, I think your problem was posting it here and suggesting it as a new series(which I see you've removed). If you want to discuss a fan series, you should post the link in "Fan Productions". You should be able to find people who want to discuss it there.

The problem was I had no idea it was a fan series... I actually thought it was a retail episode in the making!

Star Trek: Stargazer. It would bridge a lot of canon; we'd get to meet dashing, young Jean Luc and Jack Crusher, and perhaps get to check in with Capt. Garrett of the newly commissioned Enterprise C from time to time. I'm thinking the pilot would cover the incident in which the captain is killed and first officer is wounded, and Picard is forced to take command. They would return to earth, where Picard and crew would be decorated, and we'd perhaps pay a nostalgic visit to Boothby at the academy. Then back out into deep space, where we would learn of events leading up to the Cardassian war, tensions with the Klingon empire and other tidbits only hinted at in TNG.

Starring Tom Hardy.

Are you suggesting that the OP is actually stupid enough to think that link was related to an official new Trek production?

That seems a bit harsh.

I believe what Dennis was trying to say was that the OP knew very well that it wasn't a new ST television series (and anyone with half a brain would have figured that out with one click of the link), but posted the link anyway because it was highly possible that it was his own website and he just wanted people to see it. Or maybe the OP really was that stupid. He certainly seems to have admitted as much when he states "The problem was I had no idea it was a fan series... I actually thought it was a retail episode in the making!"

But hey, everyone makes stupid decisions at some point in their lives, right?
