Thanks! Never thought of her as Romulan looking...but here are the concept sketches I did a while back:Gives a bit of a hybrid Romulan / Federation vibe. Post-Burn FTL perhaps?
Thanks bro!Awesome and very experimental looking design.![]()
Thanks and very coolSomething about the barely controlled arcs of energy give it a "Mad Science" fringe look. I love it.
For your consideration then:
"So your testing a subspace immersion drive? Two quantum matter streams intersecting at an artificial singularity, which generates a stable subspace field and allows the ship to transition into subspace. The deeper into subspace you transition the farther you can travel instantaneously."
The Professor Bav paused, a thought having occurred to her.
"I can see a range of effects afflicting the crew. The Happy end of of that range is nothing happens; though a small percentage experience additional feelings of uneasiness and dread. But no more than the accepted percentage of crew that suffer from mission anxiety normally." The Andorian looked up over the rims of her silver reading glasses, a human quirk she picked up after spending many decades teaching at the Daystrom Institute.
"The not happy end of that range is a small percentage of the living crew is afflicted by growing mental instability, claiming to hear angles and devils which escalates to a full metal breakdown and uncontrolled psychotic rage as they attempt to purge the crew of their hallucinations. But you never know"
Love it.
YES!!! And it never came to fruition... GrrrrrDidn't they plan something like that for TMP? With energy/plasma streams between the nacelles?
That is cool!! great interpretation bro! I really love that. Most excellent man.
That's a really nice design. Even though this is meant to be a ship that fits in the ST universe, It kind of reminds me of the B-wing fighter with its S-foils closed, or the Outrider from Shadows of the Empire.YES!!! And it never came to fruition... Grrrrr

And unfortunately I do not have CBS all Access, so I have not seen anything Discovery or Picard. I did see a shot of a ship that looks like a blade sideways which reminded me of an old ship I did back in 2011:

So what it this "Post Burn" that BorgMan is referring to? I have not been able to see Discovery yet.
Thanks. I can definitely see that. Maybe I'll go back and refine it some more. That's a really nice design. Even though this is meant to be a ship that fits in the ST universe, It kind of reminds me of the B-wing fighter with its S-foils closed, or the Outrider from Shadows of the Empire.
exactly. So what it this "Post Burn" that BorgMan is referring to? I have not been able to see Discovery yet.
Thanks! And not to sound daft....but I thought that by TNG Dilithium could be created artificially? And what about every other race that didn't utilize it?It's revealed in the season premiere that sometime about 100 years before the future that Discovery now takes place in (3188), most of the dilithium crystals in the galaxy mysteriously exploded, causing widespread devastation. This crippled the Federation and led to its decline, since all their ships were powered by dilithium, they weren't able to pinpoint the cause of it, nor could they promise it wouldn't happen again.
They still had to mine dilithium by the time of the TNG-era, but they were able to recrystallize it to make the crystals they have last longer (presumably based on the procedure that Spock and Scotty developed in The Voyage Home). Thanks! And not to sound daft....but I thought that by TNG Dilithium could be created artificially? And what about every other race that didn't utilize it?
