New picture of the Vesta by Mark Rademaker

Hey all. Haven't posted in here in a while...it's good to be back. I like the new design of the Aventine, although I like the side view better.

Where does it show up?

The U.S.S. Aventine has appeared, so far, in the Star Trek: Destiny trilogy (Gods of Night, Mere Mortals, and Lost Souls) by David Mack; in A Singular Destiny by Keith R.A. DeCandido; and in Typhon Pact: Zero Sum Game by David Mack. Vesta-class starships like the Aventine have also appeared in the VOY Relaunch series (Full Circle, Unworthy, Children of the Storm), as part of Voyager's fleet exploring the Delta Quadrant.

And in DTI: Watching the Clock (the Capitoline).

And didn't one make a fleeting appearance in Indistinguishable from Magic?

Is there an in-universe reason why the two phaser cannons are in fixed forward-firing mounts and not, say, mounted on the sides of the secondary hull in ball turrets capable of multi-arc firing?
