Spoilers New Picard TV Series and Litverse Continuity (may contain TV show spoilers)

Speculation based on a new CBS copyright (along with Star Trek: Reliant)

I guess of they use it, the novel trilogy becomes Star Trek: Destiny (2008)

Wouldn’t it be great...well...maybe....if it’s an adaptation of the books?
It’s unlikely it will be.
But it would certainly be a suitable ‘here’s all the TV series folk’ continuation, and something very different for Picard.

Picard's a captain in the books, while in this show he isn't a captain and is a "changed and broken man."

Where do you get that quote from? I cannot find it in the original announcement - the nearest is :

"He may not, and I stress may not, be a captain anymore. He may not be the Jean-Luc that you recognize and know so well. It may be a very different individual. Someone who has been changed by his experiences."

I've seen it used in many of the threads discussing the show. I assumed it had some official backing, but a quick Google search has turned up nothing.

Just ask yourself if what you're watching/reading truly makes sense, or if it is just reinforcing your own thoughts on the matter.

We all have built in biases, sometimes you have to step outside yourself (which is hard) and try to look only at what the actual facts are. Videos like the one posted are insidious, in that they will take a fact or two and build an entire conspiracy around those facts, then present it all as true.

I literally just watched that video, and I was thinking "citations, anyone?" There were zero citations either in the video or in the description. So I've dismissed it out of hand. Who knows, the person may have predicted some things correctly, but I don't put stock in people who can't be arsed to back up their assertions with evidence.

Undoubtedly I'd get the "google it yourself" reaction if I mentioned the lack of in the comments, but the kind of people who would say that don't know that the onus is on the person making the claim to provide evidence for their assertions.
