New Picard Series and DS9

If future Trek does broach some DS9 topics, post WYLB and Nemesis, name 2 topics you'd like to see to bring a little closure to DS9

There is speculation that the Feds become very brutal and force out Vulcan and Earth which causes great upheaval.

Those are my main two questions as well, and I don't think covering them would need to be a major diversion in whatever the main story of PIC when it comes apparent.

At Comicon, in the "Picard exhibit" one of the many collected awards Picard was given over the course of his life was by the Bajorans. Obviously I can't read the text, but it's clearly Bajoran script, and the wormhole is on it.

This seems to suggest he did something important involving Bajor either off camera or after Nemesis.

What ever happened with Jake? Did he stay near Kassidy to help raise his young half-sibling? Or did he go away to the Pennington School so he could improve his writing, maybe learn to be a novelist instead of a news reporter?

the placard under it said it was given to him for his role in helping Bajor after the occupation.

Didn't the Cardassian occupation end almost immediately prior to Emissary? We'd have to presume that if he did much while DS9 was airing we would have heard of it. So it has to refer to some post-DS9 work he did on Bejor.

It says the Aftermath of the occupation, 10 years later isn't much of an aftermath.

He was the one the Federation called to help oversee the transition after the Cardassians left, and to see Sisko installed as commander of DS9. So maybe the Bajorans appreciated that.

That award from the Bajorans is great looking, as are the others from the Vulcans, Klingons et al.

In "Emissary", Picard and the Enterprise crew arrived a week before Sisko, during that time they were providing relief efforts to Bajor.

If the latest trailer says anything, DS9 is making no major contribution to ST:PIC. If that is the case, I hope that there are no perfunctory efforts at including it.

Yeah - a Borg/Romulan focused story (which seems to be what we're getting) really doesn't touch into many of DS9's bailiwicks.

The one possibility I could see is if Section 31 is somehow involved, it could result in seeing Julian again (presuming he eventually joined the group, which even Ira Steven Behr wanted).

I don't usually post in this forum but if they ever bring DS9 back to the table, I hope they bring back Ira Steven Behr. Generally, I prefer that there be fresh blood but in this case I make an exception. DS9 didn't start off as his but it very much became his, especially from the fourth season on. If he could come back, I'd be happy if Chabon only touched upon TNG/VOY in Picard, so Ira could work his magic in a more DS9-centric series. But that probably won't happen, so it's all academic.

I tend to agree.

Shoehorning DS9 into the Picard project doesn't sit right with me. I'd much rather Star Trek Picard act as a stepping stone for a whole new series which could potentially pick up some of the leftover threads from DS9... or... bring back DS9. :D

Are people still using Vic Fontaine's holoprogram and if so, which songs has he been singing lately?
