New photo released: Probe, torpedo, or...

In that bad robot international trailer a room with multiple levels explodes and people are sucked into space at warp could this be that set seeing as they're looking up maybe talking to someone on a level above perhaps this is a torpedo that explodes in the ship causing the hull breach?

I HAVE ANOTHER PHOTO but don´t know what the source is (my friend sent me by iphone) (excuse moderation). Here it is. spoiler.

im going to go with torpedo.

We know from enterprise that in earlier generations they would hand load torpedo's into a loading gully then the machines would finish loading it into the tube. but the photon torpedo's where loaded into a different tube fully by machines.

No reason to think its no different here.

What ever weapon it is, I hope that no mention of "yield" or "isoton" units gets mentioned. If it packs a punch, show it, not tell it which is what an average episode of Voyager with a space battle does.

I want to see the crew doing high fives when that thing blows up whatever it's supposed to blow up. Otherwise, I'll know that Abrams isn't doing enough to take Trek away from its pure and true path and I won't be able to curse him properly.

I can't recall anything like that happening in the last movie.

Pretty much what they did, to the best of my recollection.

... which is what an average episode of Voyager with a space battle does.
All of that, just to take a swipe at Voyager? I really can't see the point. If what you want to do is criticize what happened in Voyager episodes, then the VOY forum would be the place to go, because it's got nothing to do with what's under discussion here.

High fives? I want to see at least two people doing the Flip Wilson handshake.

I mentioned Voyager as an example of it being guilty of canonicalising everything down to the last digit, leaving very little artistic license for JJ Trek and worse still if any use of fictitious technology is shown to do something spectacular or that was not done in VOY/DS9/TNG then you can guess the inevitable online noise regarding canon.

So for the sake of avoiding the above scenario, I just hope the torpedo just explodes and no one says too much about it.

Either that or just have the entire TOS crew fight the bad guys by throwing paper-mache rocks just to really fit into canon.

Weapons expert over-seeing. The Captain. Engineer. Doctor. Adding this up I can only imply it is some kind of biological weapon or instrument pieced together from a photorp. Maybe something that can subdue those of Harrison's "kind" without outright blowding them ups.
